  • Publication number: 20070044122
Abstract: A system and a method for program recommendation are described. In order to present a user a recommendation for a choice of audio or video content pieces broadcast consecutively at a plurality of different channels, (a) piece scores of content pieces are calculated, indicating a match of a corresponding content description with a profile, (b) and sequence scores are calculated for a plurality of sequences of content pieces, said sequence scores being based at least on said piece scores and on a correlation of content descriptions of at least two pieces contained in the sequence. A recommended sequence is chosen according to the sequence score. Preferably, one or, more preferred sequences are shown to the user in a lattice representation.

  • Publication number: 20060191962
Abstract: The present invention is generally directed to various structures for applying a sealant to a work surface. In one aspect of the invention, a sealant applicator assembly is provided for use with an apparatus of the type having an elongated body defining an interior bore and having a piston movably positioned in the bore and a pusher member operatively associated with the piston. The assembly comprises a spray adaptor adapted to communicate with the bore of the body and defining a distal outlet. A first gas passageway is cooperatively associated with the distal outlet and configured to direct gas to create a spray discharge of the sealant. An actuating member is adapted to be cooperative associated with a pusher member to eject sealant through the distal outlet and is operative to simultaneously actuate a supply of gas to the first gas passageway for creating a spray discharge of sealant.

  • Publication number: 20060174262
Abstract: A method for transmitting a user-specific program to the user of a program content transmission system (1) is described, in which first a part of the program contents (P) of the program is transmitted to a first terminal unit (A) of the user and the program transmission to the fist terminal unit (A) is stopped when a first defined event occurs in accordance with a pre-determined procedural sequence. Subsequently, when a second defined event occurs, for the continuation of the program transmission, there is then a further transmission of program contents (P?) of the program to a second terminal unit (B) of the user in accordance with a pre-determined procedural sequence. Moreover, a respective program content transmission system (1) and an terminal unit (A, B) for use in this type of transmission method are described.

  • Publication number: 20060169252
Abstract: The fuel injection system has a high-pressure pump that delivers fuel to an accumulator and fuel supply pump delivers fuel to the suction side of the high-pressure pump, with a fuel metering unit between the fuel supply and high-pressure pumps to variably adjust the fuel quantity taken in by the high-pressure pump. The accumulator is connected to at least one fuel injector and a return leads from the fuel injector(s). The fuel return from the injector(s) feeds into the connection between the fuel supply pump and the fuel metering unit. A connection controlled by a pressure valve leads from the fuel return to a discharge region. The high-pressure pump only draws fuel from the fuel return in operating states in which the fuel quantity delivered by the fuel supply pump is less than the required intake quantity of the high-pressure pump.

  • Publication number: 20060156337
Abstract: A method is described for the operation of a broadcasting system (1) in which various program contents are sent to the users of the broadcasting system and the users of the broadcasting system are at the same time assigned to user communities. Community-specific program contents (PIG) are automatically selected and/or generated from a plurality of available program contents (PI) for the users of each of the different user communities. A user is assigned to a user community on the basis of a community assignment signal (SGZ) sent by the user. In addition user-specific program contents (PIN) are automatically generated and/or selected in order to compile an individual user-specific program (NSP) for each of the individual users, and the community-specific program contents (PIG) of a user community of the user are integrated into the user-specific program (NSP). In addition a corresponding broadcasting system (1) is described.

  • Publication number: 20060059517
Abstract: A system and a method are described for generating sequences of audio or video contents (A . . . I). Contents (A . . . I) are available in a stored or otherwise readable form. Additional data (for example, genre, type, time, date, play time, costs, etc.) are provided together with the contents (A . . . I). While taking a user profile (P) into account, a play sequence (S) is composed from the contents (A . . . I), using selection means (20). By matching the additional data with selection criteria of the user profile (P), a content evaluation number is determined first. For play sequences of a plurality of contents (A . . . I), a sequence evaluation number is then determined, in which the content evaluation numbers of the contents (A . . . I) arranged therein and preferably also correlation values between the contents and/or costs for requesting the contents are taken into account. A sequence (S) is selected in accordance with its sequence evaluation number.

  • Publication number: 20060048751
Abstract: A pressure booster for a fuel injection device, with a piston-shaped pressure boosting element accommodated in a housing and dividing a working chamber from a differential pressure chamber. A control line connects the differential pressure chamber to a high-pressure source or pressure-relieves it into a low-pressure region. A return spring acts on the piston-shaped pressure boosting element and rests against an annular insert inside the housing. The insert has a damper throttle via which fuel flows from the working chamber of the pressure booster into a hydraulic chamber when the pressure in the differential pressure chamber is relieved.

  • Patent number: 6817841
Abstract: A fuel injection system in which only one pump element at a time can aspirate fuel. As a result, it is attained that even in partial-load operation, all the pump elements are in operation, and as a consequence the smooth operation of the engine in partial-load operation is improved.

  • Patent number: 6764285
Abstract: The invention relates to a hydraulic pump unit having a plurality of pump elements, disposed in one plane, each of which has one pump cylinder and one pump piston longitudinally displaceable in the pump cylinder, and whose longitudinal axes intersect at a common intersection point, and having a cam drive with cams, which upon a rotation of the cam drive relative to the pump elements act upon the pump pistons with an actuating motion. To enable a uniform pumping of the hydraulic fluid and to make a high degree of smoothness of the hydraulic pump unit possible, it is proposed that the number and the angular spacing of the cams is adapted to the number and angular spacing of the pump elements in such a way that when a certain number of pump pistons are located at top dead center, the same number of pump pistons are at bottom dead center.

  • Patent number: 6752126
Abstract: A method and a device is described for controlling an internal combustion engine using fuel metering. The fuel metering is divisible into at least a first partial injection and a second partial injection. In the second partial injection, a fuel quantity variable, characterizing the fuel quantity injected in the second partial injection, is corrected on the basis of at least one pressure variable, characterizing the fuel pressure, as well as of the fuel quantity variable and at least one further variable.

  • Patent number: 6739317
Abstract: In an internal combustion engine, in particular with direct injection, a first fuel pump delivers fuel from a fuel tank to a second fuel pump. This second fuel pump delivers the fuel to a fuel accumulation line. A metering unit is triggered by a control and/or regulating unit and meters the fuel quantity traveling into the inlet of the second fuel pump. In order to simplify the design of the engine and to reduce its cost, the invention proposes that during normal operation, the metering unit is closed when it is without power and that when the control and/or regulating unit is “dead”, the metering unit is without power and the fuel delivery to the metering unit is cut off.

  • Patent number: 6722857
Abstract: A pump assembly having a main pump and a prefeed pump which pumps fuel out of a tank. The fuel is pumped through a crank chamber of the main pump. Downstream of the crank chamber f the main pump a return line is provided for the portion of the fuel which is used as lubricant to return to the tank. Also downstream of the crank chamber feed course directs fuel to a metering unit and on to the main pump. To make the pump assembly as simply as possible the prefeed pump is mechanically driven, and a zero-feed course branches off between the metering unit and the main feed pump to return fuel to the intake side of the prefeed pump. A throttle is disposed in the zero-feed course.
