Abstract: A process for the stereophonic acquisition, transmission, and reproduction of sound events for communication applications in telephony with headphones and microphones available for each participant which to each ear area of every participant is assigned a combination consisting of an earphone or a headphone as well as a microphone each, provided in close proximity one to the other in connection that has no acoustic echo or feedback, whereby the real, binaurally acquired environment, related to the head of the respective acquiring participant with respect to its reflection, diffraction, and resonance behavior is transmitted to each of the participants in the form of corresponding stereophonic sound and acoustic images via a two-channel connection.
