  • Patent number: 11765308
Abstract: A visualization device includes a camera for continuously detecting the surroundings and, when the camera is oriented towards the interior or the exterior shell of a real vehicle, generating a real vehicle image which can change depending on the camera orientation. A data storage unit stores at least one component data set. The data set contains data, on the basis of which the visual representation of at least one vehicle component is possible. A computing device is programmed to integrate the representation of the vehicle component into the real vehicle image while taking into consideration the scale and perspective and to generate a virtual vehicle image that represents the real vehicle together with the virtually installed vehicle component. A display device displays the virtual vehicle image. A method for visualizing the interior or exterior of a vehicle is also provided.

  • Patent number: 8172259
Abstract: An airbag cover for receiving an airbag compressed into an airbag package for an airbag module of a motor vehicle is provided. The airbag cover comprising one or more precut sections of a flexible material connecting sites, by way of which regions of the at least one precut material section are connected to each other such that the at least one precut section forms a flexible cover that at least partially receives the airbag package. The airbag cover forms an outer cover of the airbag module which is at least in sections visible for a vehicle occupant when installed into a vehicle as intended, wherein the flexible airbag cover forms a most outer casing of the airbag package. At least some of the connecting sites are configured in a disconnectable such that the corresponding connecting sites are disconnected upon the inflation and deployment of the airbag as intended in the event of a crash.

  • Patent number: 7802810
Abstract: An airbag module for a motor vehicle. The airbag module includes an airbag. The airbag includes an airbag sleeve enclosing an interior of the airbag. The airbag module further comprises a module receptacle on which the airbag is accommodated as an airbag package, a top surface, and a cover extending along the top surface. When the airbag module is installed, the top surface is arranged such that it faces the associated seat. At least one layer of the airbag forming a component of the airbag sleeve extends in front of the outer surface of the cover facing the seat. Components of the airbag module arranged in front of the outer surface of the cover, insofar as they are not located between the outer surface of the cover and the at least one airbag layer, remain connected to the airbag sleeve during inflation of the airbag.

  • Patent number: 7686329
Abstract: An airbag module for a motor vehicle includes an airbag that may be inflated for restraining a person, at least one outlet opening for releasing gas out of the module and originating at least partially from the inflated airbag, and a reservoir containing coolant for cooling the gas released from the module through the outlet opening. The reservoir includes a wall that sealingly encloses the coolant and is opened to bring the coolant into direct contact with the released gas to cool the released gas.

  • Patent number: 7673898
Abstract: A device is provided for mounting a module carrier on a rotatable steering wheel of a motor vehicle in such a manner that the angular position of the module carrier remains constant during a rotation of the steering wheel, with a first toothed ring connected in a rotationally fixed manner to the module carrier, a lever, which is mounted on the steering wheel via a bearing section in a manner such that it can pivot to and fro between two positions, a first toothed wheel, which is mounted rotatably on a first arm of the lever and meshes with the first toothed ring in a first position of the lever, and elastic means for pressing the first toothed wheel elastically against the first toothed ring so that rotation of the steering wheel in one direction causes a rotation of the module carrier in the opposite direction. For actuating the lever, the lever has a second arm which is connected via the bearing section to the first arm of the lever.

  • Publication number: 20090096196
Abstract: An airbag module includes an airbag, a gas generator, and a module including at least one outflow opening. Gas generated by the gas generator enters an exterior space surrounding the airbag module through outflow opening. The airbag module also includes a movable first element that is assigned to the outflow opening and can be moved from an initial position, in which the first element closes the outflow opening into an end position. Movement of the first element out of the initial position into the end position causes the outflow opening to be opened. The at least one outflow opening is assigned a second element that may be moved out of an initial position into an end position in order to close the open outflow opening.

  • Patent number: 7478831
Abstract: An airbag module for a motor vehicle includes an airbag, an inflow orifice, a continuously running marginal region, a gas generator, a generator carrier having a base and emerging from an output orifice, a surface defined by the marginal region, and a continuous running wall protruding from the base. The wall has at least one first outflow orifice through which gas emerging from the gas outlet orifice of the gas generator can pass into the outside space of the airbag module. A cylindrical ring with a clearance is arranged displaceably on the wall in a movement direction running around the wall. The clearance is able to be brought into congruence with the outflow orifice as a result of a displacement of the cylindrical ring in the movement direction to open the first outflow orifice.

  • Publication number: 20070063503
Abstract: A device for mounting a module on a turnable steering wheel of a motor vehicle is provided in such a manner that the angular position of the module remains constant when the steering wheel is turned. In one form, the device includes a reversing gearing with a first gearing element of the reversing gearing, which is attached to a part of the motor vehicle fixed to said vehicle; a second gearing element of the reversing gearing, which can be fixed to the module and can be turned together with the module, and; a gearing subassembly, which can be actuated by turning the steering wheel and via which the first gearing element is coupled with the second gearing element in such a manner that a turning of the steering wheel relative to the first gearing element along a turning direction is converted into a turning of the module connected to the second gearing element relative to the steering wheel in the opposite direction.
