The joint ball is held in the ball socket by a locking ring which has a flange portion bearing upon the base body. The flange portion has an outer periphery formed with a circumferential groove, with a groove flank of the groove providing a welding area. A welding seam running about the flange portion connects the locking ring to the base body.
