  • Publication number: 20110257584
Abstract: Substances are injected (e.g. laser injected) into skin tissue in order to change optical and/or mechanical properties of the tissue. Methods include ablating one or more micro-holes into tissue, pushing a substance into the one or more micro-holes with energy from the creation of the mirco-holes, with acoustic energy, and/or with laser energy. A container component is filled with the substance to be injected into the skin tissue.

  • Patent number: 7985072
Abstract: The present invention is a number of methods and devices for tooth rejuvenation and hard tissue modification comprising applying a layer of a peroxide-free composition to a tooth surface. The applied composition comprises an aqueous solution of one or more edible acids. The composition has a pH selected from the range of about 0.5 to 5. After the treatment the composition is removed from the tooth surface. In various embodiments of the invention the pH of the composition can range between about 0.5 and 3, a narrower range being between 1 and 1.75. Hard tissue rejuvenation comprises forming a post-treatment layer having a composition which is different from that of the hard tissue by selectively heating a porous layer on the hard tissue.

  • Publication number: 20100286673
Abstract: Devices and methods of treatment of tissue, such as skin tissue, with electromagnetic radiation (EMR) are disclosed that employ local deformation of tissue in small areas. Devices and methods employing local deformation are used to produce fractional lattices of EMR-treated islets in tissue for application including hair growth management.

  • Publication number: 20080021441
Abstract: A method and apparatus are provided for processing a hard material, for example a hard biological material such as dental enamel or bone, with optical radiation. A treatment zone of the material is selectively cleaned of ablation products and other dirt to enhance processing efficiency, and a tip through which the optical radiation is applied to the treatment zone of the hard material is spaced slightly from the treatment zone during at least a portion of the time that hydrating fluid is being applied to the zone and/or while air or another gas is applied to the zone to clean the surface thereof.

  • Publication number: 20060009750
Abstract: The invention relates to an apparatus for performing a treatment on tissue. The apparatus can feature a hand piece having a waveguide with an output for applying radiation from an optical radiation source to the tissue. In addition, the apparatus can include a reflective mask coupled to the output of the waveguide. The reflective mask can have a spatial pattern with openings therein to provide selected treatment spots on the tissue.
