Abstract: The invention relates to a device for rotating a specimen about two orthogonal axes. According to the invention, the rotation is decoupled, i.e. the axes remain unchanged in their orientation to each other during rotations about the axes. A third rotation about a further axis is then also possible in a decoupled manner. All rotations can also be effected purely mechanically. The device comprises at least one base (18, 18?, 18?) and a socket (1), which is arranged on the base (18, 18?, 18?) rotatable about a first axis, and wherein a first axis T is defined by this first axis. The axis T lies in particular outside the socket (1).
