  • Patent number: 8887409
Abstract: A detachable, flexible shoe protector is disclosed cover for protecting shoes against inclement weather conditions and for protecting carpet and indoor flooring from dirt carried in on shoes used outdoors. In various embodiments, the shoe protectors may be fabricated from transparent or translucent polymers such that the aesthetic appearance of the underlying shoe is still visible. The rigidity and/or thickness of the shoe protector vary from one embodiment to another depending upon the intended use of that embodiment. Some embodiments of the present invention comprise tread to minimize slipping between the shoe protector and an underlying floor or subgrade. Various embodiments of the shoe protector comprise a forward lip and/or an aft cantilevered tab to facilitate ease of use. The shoe cover has a front portion, a rear portion and a sole portion.

  • Publication number: 20140335087
Abstract: The present invention provides aspartyl-tRNA synthetase and Fc region conjugate polypeptides (DRS-Fc conjugates), such as DRS-Fc fusion proteins, compositions comprising the same, and methods of using such conjugates and compositions for treating or diagnosing a variety of conditions. The DRS-Fc conjugates of the invention have improved controlled release properties, stability, half-life, and other pharmacokinetic and biological properties relative to corresponding, unmodified DRS polypeptides.

  • Patent number: 8862415
Abstract: A method and system can provide building energy performance metrics that can help identify specific zones within a building which may have energy efficiency problems. The method and system can collect data from: indoor temperature sensors and humidity sensors present in each zone of a building; one or more temperature sensors and humidity sensors present outside of the building; one or more utility meters; and one or more HVAC devices. This data from the sensors can be aggregated and formed into a first profile. The energy efficiency calculation system can analyze the first profile to provide various energy performance metrics which can include, but are not limited to, energy efficiency ratios for air conditioners, the R-value or thermal resistance of the building, an amount of heat loss for the building, energy consumption by the building, current HVAC performance parameters, and utility usage comparisons.

  • Publication number: 20140213200
Abstract: A transceiver includes an integrated circuit that enables board-level configuration of an on-chip or external transmit/receive switch. The transceiver uses a high-Q matching network, at least part of which is external, that improves receiver performance; increases transmit power while allowing for configuration of the same chip to use an internal TR switch, or external TR switch by changing connection at the board level rather than the chip level.

  • Patent number: 8545064
Abstract: Lighting assemblies or lighting fixtures suitable for use in a hazardous location are provided. Generally, the lighting fixtures include a light source assembly, a heat sink, a driver housing or gear module, a thermally conductive sealing member between the light source assembly and the heat sink, and a thermally nonconductive sealing member or a thermally semi-conductive sealing member positioned between the heat sink and the driver housing. The conductive sealing member has a thermal conductivity of at least about 6 Watts per meter-Kelvin, and/or a thermal impedance of less than about 0.21 degree-C inch squared per Watt. The lighting fixtures have controlled directional heat transfer from the light source assembly to the exterior of the lighting fixture, while minimizing the heat transferred to the driver housing.

  • Publication number: 20130030971
Abstract: An allocation of funds to multiple accounts is determined. Information about financial transactions is received from multiple sources, and the information is aggregated to determine a total amount of allocatable funds. The allocatable funds include posted interest either before or after a term deposit payment date. Respective deposit rules are determined for each of the multiple accounts. The multiple accounts include sub-accounts at the same bank, and the deposit rules include a limit based on FDIC insurance. The allocation of the allocatable funds to the multiple accounts is determined based on a priority hierarchy set to the multiple accounts. Funds are allocated such that each account or sub-account in the priority hierarchy is filled to its respective limit according to the respective deposit rules until the total amount of allocatable funds is allocated.
