Patent number: 9407942Abstract: Embodiments in accordance with the present invention relate to methods and systems for the indexing and annotation of video content, the retrieval and display of such video content and its annotations, and the conversion and transmission of such video content and associated data. In certain embodiments, the system processes and cross-references video content with data associated with that content and with standard ontologies. Correlating these information sources produces a system of indexing and annotation of the content. In certain embodiments, this indexing and annotation may facilitate the discovery, retrieval, and management of video content, and may facilitate the integration of video content with other media and other systems.Type: GrantFiled: November 7, 2012Date of Patent: August 2, 2016Assignee: FINITIV CORPORATIONInventor: Andrew Brenneman

Patent number: 5395243Abstract: An interactive learning system used for learning an application program, such as a word processing program, provides three basic types of instruction including interactive audiovisual lessons, reference information, and practice in using the actual application program being learned. The reference information may include relatively detailed reference information, relatively brief reference information, and customized reference information generated via an electronic clipboard. The subject matter of the application program is subdivided into different subject matter areas or units, and the user of the system may select to receive lessons relating to any of the units. The interactive learning system provides three learning paths, one of which comprises completing all of the lessons in a unit and then using the features of the actual application program relating to the unit that was just completed to reinforce the instruction received by the user.Type: GrantFiled: June 20, 1994Date of Patent: March 7, 1995Assignee: National Education Training GroupInventors: David A. Patent number: 3936704Abstract: Each of a pair of electronic semi-conductor switching devices is disposed between a corresponding pair of conductor plates. The semi-conductor devices are aligned with each other, and the complete assemblage is held together by means of a clamp which applies a clamping force to tightly hold each semi-conductor device between its corresponding pair of conductor plates. A spacer arrangement separates the two pairs of plates and includes a spherical pivot bearing seated between a pair of individual spacer plates which are in turn separated from the immediately adjacent conductor plates by means of annual insulating spacers. The pivot bearing permits limited pivotal movement of one pair of plates relative to the other so that excellent surface contact between each semi-conductor device and its corresponding pair of conductor plates is maintained when one plate of each pair is attached to a corresponding electrical terminal fixedly mounted on a control panel into which the assemblage mounts.Type: GrantFiled: November 18, 1974Date of Patent: February 3, 1976Assignee: Chrysler CorporationInventors: Daniel Andrew Brenneman, Ramon Wright Ragan, Thomas Harry Brockie
