  • Publication number: 20080034062
Abstract: A computer network (20) includes a first processor (22) for maintaining a Web page (34) having an embedded first code module (36) and accessible through a Web address (38). A second processor (24) supports a Web browser (52) for downloading the Web page (34) and executing the first code module (36). When executed, the first code module (36) issues a first command (93) to retrieve a second code module (90) from a server system (26). The server system (26) includes a database (68) having a service response (162, 176, 186) associated with the Web address (38). A processor (62) assembles the second code module (90) having the service response (162, 176, 186). When the second code module is retrieved, the first code module (36) issues a second command (106) to initiate execution of the second code module (90) to provide added function to the Web page (34).

  • Publication number: 20070204277
Abstract: A method (54) utilizing a computing system (30) for managing implementation of a process (34) enables selection of a procedure (58) that includes hierarchically ordered events (68), each representing a portion of the process (34). Each event (68) has a set (76) of associated event outcomes (62), each being linked to another event (68) within the procedure (58). The method (54) obtains at least one event object (60) associated with a first event (68) and instantiates the event object (60) to present the first event (68) and the set (76) of event outcomes (62) to a user (24). A user input (138) is received at the computing system (30) that includes one of the event outcomes (62) indicating completion of the first event (68). The method (54) proceeds to another event (68) within the procedure (58) to implement the process (34) in response to the one event outcome (62).

  • Publication number: 20070063117
Abstract: The present invention is a mounting bracket for the construction of a deck. The mounting bracket has a separating flange, a joist-fastening portion, a support flange, and a plank-fastening flange. The separating flange and the plank-fastening flange are generally located in a first plane. The joist-fastening portion is generally located perpendicular to the first plane. The joist-fastening portion has a joist-fastening hole for securing the mounting bracket to a vertical joist. The support flange includes an access hole to provide access through the support flange to allow an installer to install a first fastener in the joist-fastening hole. The plank-fastening flange includes a plank-fastening hole for securing the mounting bracket to a horizontal plank.

  • Publication number: 20040159065
Abstract: A mortarless concrete block retaining wall is formed from special blocks arranged in set-back tiers and interlocked by a special post groove arrangement. Each block is trapezoidal in plan view with a pair of laterally spaced posts projecting from the top surface of the block. A groove on the bottom surface of the block fits over adjacent posts in the underlying tiers. The vertically adjacent tiers are laterally offset to interlock the tiers via the post/groove arrangement. The post/groove arrangement allows for blocks that are adjustable to interlock the tiers in a straight configuration or in varying degrees of convex and concave curved configurations.

  • Patent number: 5969748
Abstract: A television schedule system with a user interface which allows a user to control access to television programs by time, rating, content, and/or channel. Criteria for blocking television programs from being viewed are entered by a user with a password. A television program listing is selected for viewing or recording from an on-screen program guide. A viewer is prompted on the screen to enter a password if the selected program meets the blocking criterion, If a viewer enters the appropriate password, the selected program that meets the blocking criterion is unblocked. The blocking criterion is restored after the program is over or the program is no longer tuned to. Furthermore, the user may set a limit on pay-per-view (PPV) spending to limit the purchase of PPV programs.
