  • Patent number: 11365678
Abstract: A fluid valve is provided including an inner shell and an outer shell. The inner shell includes a sidewall having a first opening and an interior surface defining an inner chamber. The outer shell includes a sidewall having a second opening and an exterior surface defining an outer chamber. The inner shell is positioned within the outer shell and the inner shell is movable relative to the outer chamber between a first position and a second position by a change in fluid conditions of a fluid supplied to the fluid valve. The first opening and the second opening overlap to define a passageway extending from the interior surface of the inner shell to the exterior surface of the outer shell. Relative movement of the inner shell from the first position toward the second position reduces a cross-sectional area of the passageway.

  • Patent number: 10495659
Abstract: A sensor system includes a drum, a first sensor, and a second sensor. The drum is mounted for rotation about a rotation axis and includes a band and a plurality of members that extend axially away from the band. The first sensor and the second sensor are configured to generate electrical output in response to detecting one or more of the plurality of members.

  • Patent number: 10365292
Abstract: A speed sensor system for measuring rotational speed includes a magnetic sensor and a cylindrical drum rotatable around the magnetic sensor. The cylindrical drum includes several axially extending members disposed circumferentially around a first edge of the cylindrical drum. The magnetic sensor is configured to generate an electrical output that indicates each passage of each of the axially extending members around the magnetic sensor as the cylindrical drum rotates around the magnetic sensor. The axially extending members are adapted to deflect radially outwards away from the magnetic sensor in response to an increased rotational speed of the cylindrical drum. The deflection of the axially extending members provides voltage regulation functionality that maintains voltage outputs of the magnetic sensor within a desired operational range.

  • Patent number: 7526911
Abstract: A gas turbine engine fuel metering valve is configured to move within an operating position range having a first end position for establishing a first fuel flow rate, a second end position for establishing a second fuel flow rate, and an intermediate position located between the first and second end positions for establishing a third fuel flow rate. The first and second fuel flow rates are either both higher than or both lower than the third fuel flow rate.

  • Patent number: 5860275
Abstract: In a ducted fan gas turbine engine the fan module is connected rigidly to aircraft structure and flexibly to the core gas generator via flanged annular diaphragms (62,66) thus obviating the exertion of bending loads on the core gas generator casing when the fan intake experiences asymmetric aerodynamic loads.
