  • Patent number: 9816512
Abstract: A product usable with a turbocharger may include a compressor wheel having an inducer section and an exducer section. Air may be collected by the inducer section and expelled by the exducer section. A cover may define a diffuser and a collection volute. The diffuser may lead away from the exducer section to the collection volute. The cover may define a collection cavity opening to the collection volute through a port and extending in an axial direction. The cover may define an inlet passage around the inducer section and the cover may include a dividing wall separating the inlet passage from the collection cavity.

  • Publication number: 20160371441
Abstract: Systems, methods, and computer program products that enable system-wide probabilistic forecasting, alerting, optimizing and activating resources in the delivery of care to address both immediate (near real-time) conditions as well as probabilistic forecasted operational states of the system over an interval that is selectable from the current time to minutes, hours and coming days or weeks ahead are provided. There are multiple probabilistic future states that are implemented in these different time intervals and these may be implemented concurrently for an instant in time control, near term, and long term. Those forecasts along with their optimized control of hospital capacity may be independently calculated and optimized, such as for a dynamic workflow direction over the next hour and also a patient's stay over a period of days.

  • Publication number: 20160024998
Abstract: A turbocharger includes a turbine section and a compressor section. The turbine section includes a turbine housing (1) that surrounds a turbine wheel (15). The turbine housing (1) defines an exhaust gas inlet (2), a duct (6) that extends between the inlet (2) and the turbine wheel (15), and a wastegate opening (5) in the duct (6). A, butterfly-type wastegate valve (3) including a valve plate (10) and a rotatable shaft (11) is disposed in the opening (5) and rotates between an open position and a closed position. A spring (4) is attached to the shaft (11) to bias (4) the shaft (11) toward rotation about a longitudinal axis in a first direction; wherein pressure of a gas flowing in the exhaust duct (6) against the valve plate (10) causes a rotary motion of the valve plate (10) and rotatable shaft (11) against the spring bias in a second direction.

  • Publication number: 20150159547
Abstract: A turbocharger (10) with a cross flow turbine (30) where exhaust gas passes through a cross flow turbine wheel (18) on its outer diameter. A cross flow turbine (30) has radial exhaust gas inlet and outlet. Cross flow turbines (30) are suited for variable turbine geometry, including with a single guide vane (44) or multiple guide vanes in the turbine inlet (34) to control variable flow and thus performance of the turbine stage. Cross flow turbines (30) allow reduced size and excellent packaging options, such as a single or dual cross flow turbine wheel (18) between two compressor wheels (12).

  • Publication number: 20140232076
Abstract: A luggage and luggage cart assembly includes a piece of luggage selectively moveable between a collapsed configuration and an expanded configuration. The luggage has a greater longitudinal length in the expanded configuration as compared to the collapsed configuration. A cart is selectively moveable between a retracted position and an extended position. The cart, in the retracted position, is sized and arranged to carry the luggage in the collapsed configuration and, in the extended position, is sized and arranged to carry the luggage in the expanded configuration. The luggage is selectively attachable and detectable from the cart. With the luggage in the collapsed configuration and the cart in the retracted position, the luggage and cart collectively have a maximum size less than or equal to 45 linear inches so that the assembly can be carried onto an aircraft.
