  • Publication number: 20170245162
Abstract: A passive intermodulation (PIM) tester is provided. The PIM tester includes at least one interface to couple the tester to a front-haul communication link used for communicating front-haul data to a remote radio head (RRH) having one or more antenna ports. The PIM tester includes a programmable processor, coupled to the interface, configured to execute software, wherein the software is operable to cause the tester to do the following: identify at least one tone in at least one downlink band of the remote radio head, wherein potential PIM products may appear in at least one uplink band of the remote radio head in response to the identified at least one tone; inject the identified at least one tone in the at least one downlink band of the remote radio head; and monitor the at least one uplink band for the potential PIM products from the injected at least one tone.

  • Patent number: 9715001
Abstract: A base station includes an antenna, a radio transceiver, an optical splitter, an optical-to-electrical converter, and a computation module. The antenna may be mounted to a tower and may be configured to receive an RF signal. The radio transceiver may be coupled to the antenna and mounted near the top of the tower. The transceiver may be configured to convert the RF signal to a baseband signal for transmission over a fiber optic link as a first optical signal. The splitter may be configured to split the first optical signal, received via the fiber optic link, into a second optical signal and a third optical signal. The optical-to-electrical converter may be configured to convert the second optical signal into an electrical digital signal including in-phase and quadrature (I/Q) data. The computation module may be configured to compute, based on the I/Q data, signal measurements for location of a mobile station.

  • Patent number: 9693333
Abstract: A system and method for determining the location of a target mobile device in a communications network. A set of mobile devices in proximity to the target mobile device may be determined as a function of a common parameter of information observed by mobile devices in the set. Measurement data may be shared for the set of mobile devices and the target mobile device, and a location of the target mobile device determined as a function of the shared measurement data. This sharing of measurement data may occur amongst the set of mobile devices and the target mobile device or may also occur at a communications network entity.

  • Publication number: 20170064514
Abstract: This disclosure pertains to systems and methods that may be used to increase the information content of a mobile device so as to locate, track, or determine the behavior of a mobile device and/or the user of the mobile device. Separate pieces of information (information snippets) may be aggregated over time to form information linkages. The snippets and linkages may be associated with a time stamp and/or a time frame. The snippets and linkages may be associated with a probability value which may be updated as more information is acquired. The snippets and linkages may be aggregated with, for example a building floor plan to provide more complete informational description of the mobile device and/or the behavior of the user of the mobile device (information map).

  • Patent number: 8650186
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to systems and methods for improving the management of requirements in systems and systems of systems. Multiple requirements databases may be interfaced, and language processing tools may be used to identify requirements having related content. The relevancy of requirements may be based on the semantic distance between terms in the network, their semantic relations, the number of related terms in the requirements, etc. A user may be presented with a navigable cross-section of requirements data relevant to search terms. Thus, added visibility and ease of access is provided for systems and systems of systems.
