  • Patent number: 8311741
Abstract: Methods and systems for providing routing information to a user are disclosed. Based on a request for routing information between an origin and destination for a travel objective, wireless coverage data for the geographic area associated with the travel objective is received. A graph model for determining routes between the origin and destination is adjusted based at least in part on the wireless coverage data. According to particular aspects of the present disclosure, the graph model can be adjusted based on the wireless coverage data and at least additional parameter such as estimated trip time, average speed, distance, favored routes or traffic information. User information can be optionally provided and used to emphasize or deemphasize wireless coverage data in the determination of the route for the travel objective.

  • Patent number: 7937348
Abstract: A system is disclosed for correlating user profiles to software applications. The system may be adapted as part of a software system that interrogates a user profile and reading a learning objective as a first input, interrogates a software application and reading a learning objective as a second input, calculates a relevance of the first input learning objective to the second input learning objective, and adapts the software application in accordance with the determined relevance and/or updating the user profile in accordance with the determined relevance. A method is disclosed that correlates user profiles to software applications by reading a first learning objective from a user profile, reading a second learning objective from a software application, determining a relevance of the first to the second learning objective, and adapting the software application in accordance with the determined relevance and/or updating the user profile in accordance with the determined relevance.

  • Publication number: 20100302045
Abstract: An interface for a fire alarm system having a number of alarm condition detectors (11, 12, 13), a number of alarm devices such as alarm sounders (2) and the like and a fire alarm panel (1). The interface includes a fire alarm silence controller (4) and input and output circuits (7) and (8) connected to the controller. The input circuit includes one of the detectors (11) and the output circuit, one of the alarm sounders (2). Each fire alarm silence controller (4) has a timer and a user operable device for turning off the alarm device activated by the detector. The fire alarm system is provided for a plurality of individual dwellings and each dwelling has its own interface. When a detector in one dwelling is triggered to an alarm state the corresponding fire alarm silence controller operates the corresponding alarm device but does not signal an alarm condition to the fire alarm panel.

  • Patent number: 7711125
Abstract: An audio distribution system comprises a plurality of individual signal conditioning circuits connected in series. Each circuit comprises a signal conditioning unit to which an audio input (13) is fed. The output from the unit is fed to a precision signal addition device. Each circuit also comprises a balanced line level input (11), which is fed to a balanced to unbalanced precision signal converter the output of which is connected to the precision signal addition device. The output from the precision signal addition device is fed to an unbalanced to balanced converter which provides at its output a balanced line level signal (12). As compared with a conventional distribution system, the system enables only one balanced line level input to amplification equipment eliminating any mixing or control means that equipment and obtaining the need for a conventional mixer.
