    Abstract: A subscriber electronic media distribution system including a broadcast transmission reception system and an authentication system. The broadcast transmission reception system includes a receiver. The authentication system is provided for allowing the receiver to descramble a scrambled broadcast transmission received by the receiver. The authentication system includes an authentication server and a receiver geographic position locating system for determining a geographic position of the receiver. When the receiver is determined to be in a predetermined geographic position, the authentication system is adapted to send an authentication signal to the receiver for descrambling the scrambled broadcast transmission.
