Abstract: A crimped banana-type electrical connector includes an axially extending male pin having a conductive contact portion and a connector post extending axially from one end of the pin. The stranded or solid core of a wire or wires is positioned along the exposed post and a crimping ferrule placed over the wire and the post. The crimping ferrule is forced radially inward to crimp the wire to the post and, thereafter, an insulating sleeve is placed over the crimped connection to provide a compact and permanent mechanical and electrical connection between the wire and the banana-type pin.

Abstract: An electrical connector for effecting connection to `banana` type sockets includes a connector body having an axially elongated male pin extending from one end thereof. A captive, internally threaded collar is located at the proximate end of the pin and is used to threadedly engage the external threads of a mating socket. The other end of the connector body includes an internally threaded bore for receiving a threaded terminal fastener that includes a head portion for securing bifurcated terminal lugs between the end of the connector body and the head of the terminal fastener. A flat side surface is formed on the head of the terminal fastener for engaging the bent free ends of bifurcated terminal lugs. The terminal fastener also includes an axially aligned bore for receiving a male banana-type pin and a diametrically aligned bore for receiving a solid or a stranded core wire so that the wire can be secured between the head of the terminal fastener and the end of the connector body.

Abstract: An electrical connector for effecting connection between a wire and a `banana` type socket includes an axially extending male pin divided by a slot(s) into radially expansible contact arm quadrants. A terminal fastener is mounted in threaded engagement on the pin for securing an electrical terminal between the terminal fastener and an annular portion of the pin. An expander element is also mounted in threaded engagement on the pin and includes an expander rod having a frusto conical tip portion that enters and engages a tapered internal bore of the pin to permit the contact arm quadrants to be forced outward to grip the smooth internal bore of the `banana` type socket.
