  • Patent number: 11598912
Abstract: A single edge lit lighting module is disclosed which produces tailored light distributions valuable in many illumination applications. The lighting module comprises a unique light scattering optical element which is aligned with one or more LED light sources along one of its edges and works in combination with configured reflective surfaces. Light distributions attainable using the invention include, but are not limited to, symmetric and asymmetric bi-lobed “batwing” distributions for wide area direct and indirect lighting, and tilted or asymmetric distributions for perimeter lighting. It is also possible to achieve more rounded and symmetric distributions by an additional diffuser as a cover lens. The invention's unique single edge lit construction provides the means for achieving the lighting distributions without the need for conventional two lit edges and within a compact form factor with narrow width.

  • Patent number: 11592609
Abstract: A single edge lit lighting module is disclosed which produces tailored light distributions valuable in many illumination applications. The lighting module comprises a unique light scattering optical element with volumetric light scattering properties which works in combination with configured reflective surfaces and optional surface relief features, Light distributions attainable using the invention are non-lambertian and anisotropic. Light distributions with one or more lobes of peak intensity can be produced which include, but are not limited to, symmetric and asymmetric batwing distributions, asymmetric distributions for perimeter lighting and symmetric distributions. The invention's unique single edge lit construction provide the means for achieving this without need for conventional two lit edges and within a compact form factor with narrow width, particularly well-suited for linear lighting fixtures that are suspended, surface mounted or recessed.

  • Patent number: 11592610
Abstract: A light fixture with a single edge lit optical assembly produces various light distributions which provide targeted control of light output with peak intensity that is non-normal to the light guide output face. The compact form factor of light fixture embodiments having narrow width are particularly well-suited for use in linear lighting applications requiring suspended, surface and recessed installations typically used to illuminate walls, floors and/or ceilings. The light fixture can also be selectively configured and oriented during assembly and installation to achieve various lighting distributions including asymmetrical and symmetrical with one or more peak intensities. Optical components within the light fixture are typically positioned and retained in optical alignment with internal support features of a linear housing.

  • Patent number: 11520097
Abstract: A single edge lit lighting module produces bi-lobed light distributions which provide targeted control of light output with peak intensity that is non-normal to the lighting module output face. The compact form factor of module embodiments having narrow width are particularly well-suited for use in linear lighting fixtures for suspended, surface and recessed lighting configurations typically used to illuminate walls, floors and/or ceilings. Embodiments of the single edge lit lighting module utilize reflectors in combination with light guides having volumetric light scattering properties and surface features to control peak intensities, output angles, and shapes of the two light output lobes. A variety of light distributions can be achieved including symmetrical bi-lobed distributions conventionally achieved by double edge lit modules. Further embodiments utilize selective alignment of light guide with reflector to achieve different asymmetric light distributions.

  • Patent number: 11471216
Abstract: Devices, systems, and methods of the present disclosure can overcome physical constraints associated with catheter introduction to facilitate the use of a catheter with a large distal portion as part of a medical procedure benefiting from such a large distal portion, such as, for example, cardiac ablation. More specifically, devices, systems, and methods of the present disclosure can compress an expandable tip of a catheter from an expanded state to a compressed state along a tapered surface of an insertion sleeve for advancement of the expandable tip into vasculature of a patient. The tapered surface of the insertion sleeve can, for example, apply compressive forces at an angle against the advancing expandable tip. As compared to other approaches to the application of compressive force to an expandable tip, compressing the expandable tip using an angled force can reduce the likelihood of unintended deformation of the expandable tip.
