In one respect, the invention is a method for improving performance of a GUI. The method comprises identifying a plurality of links, wherein the identifying is performed in response to an initiation command. The method further comprises automatically processing the plurality of links, with each link being processed individually. In another respect, the invention is a computer readable medium on which is embedded computer software comprising a set of instructions for executing the above method. In yet another respect, the invention is a system configured to perform the above method.

Abstract: An imaging device access control for restricting access to internally located parts of the imaging device. In one embodiment of the invention, an imaging device includes an access panel hingedly attached to an imaging housing. Access to an interior of the imaging device through an access panel is controlled by an access panel operation restrictor assembly. The access panel operation restrictor assembly includes an access panel operation restrictor and an access panel restrictor release. The panel operation restrictor may include a locking mechanism having a bolt which is selectively engageable with the access panel by operation of a solenoid. In one preferred embodiment of the invention, the access panel operation restrictor assembly is operable from an image forming device control panel. An individual must enter an authorization code or password at the control panel as a precondition to operation of the access panel operation restrictor assembly.

In the method, an instruction for performing a procedure is determined based on environmental data and an animated instruction performing the procedure is automatically generated in response to the instruction. In the system, based on environmental data, an instruction for performing a procedure is generated by an instruction generating module and in response to the instruction, an animated instruction for performing the procedure is automatically generate by an animation generator module configured to communicate with the instruction generating module.
