  • Patent number: 7540844
Abstract: A cell scraper includes a grip, an elongate arm and a scraper blade. The cell scraper includes a substrate molded from a substantially rigid plastic. The substrate includes a blade support remote from the grip. The cell scraper also includes a resilient material over-molded onto the substrate. The resilient material may be molded onto the grip to facilitate gripping. Additionally, the resilient material is molded around the blade support to define a flexible blade for efficiently scraping cells from a tissue culture vessel.

  • Patent number: 7410618
Abstract: A well geometry for multiwell plates is provided, wherein a well is formed with an open end, a closed end and a side wall extending therebetween, the side wall including four spaced-apart rectangular panels and four rounded corners. The corners are each located to join, and extend between, a pair of adjacent panels. With rounded corners, less wicking is experienced than with flat corners designs. In addition, the rectangular panels provide relatively larger perimeters than with comparable-sized trapezoidal-shape panels as viewed in various planes cutting through the well, particularly at the bottom of the well.

  • Patent number: 6939516
Abstract: A multi-well plate cover and assembly comprises a lid and a gasket. The lid is formed of a resilient material and configured to apply a compressive spring force to the surface of the gasket to seal the wells in a multi-well plate when the cover is secured to the multi-well plate. The lid has members for mechanical manipulation and for attachment to the multi-well plate.

  • Patent number: 6818438
Abstract: A tissue culture flask includes a base, a cover and a cap. The base has a bottom wall and a ramp extending up at an obtuse angle from the bottom wall to the front end of the flask. The flask also includes a sidewall enclosure that extends up from the bottom wall and the ramp. The sidewall enclosure includes a front wall at the end of the ramp furthest from the bottom wall. The front wall includes an opening, and a substantially tubular neck extends forward from the opening. The neck has a substantially circular cross-section at the front end. However, portions of the neck at the rear end have a substantially circular cross-section across the top of the neck and a substantially elliptical cross-section across the bottom of the neck. The elliptical sections of the neck are substantially tangent to the ramp at the front wall of the flask. The geometry facilitates access by pipettes, scrapers and other instruments.
