Abstract: A method for enabling raster image editing software to work with geospatial imagery includes identifying geospatial metadata for an image upon opening of the image, and monitoring all raster image editing operations performed on the image to determine if the geospatial metadata is affected. The geospatial metadata is updated if the geospatial metadata is affected by a raster image editing operation. In another aspect, a computer readable medium contains instructions for controlling a computer system to perform a method for enabling raster image editing software to work with geospatial imagery.

Abstract: A low cost and durable package for use in shipping thin, fragile planar members, such as protective tempered glass screen protectors for electronic devices. The package may include a rectangular box having a sidewall that defines an interior portion. A support insert having two outer sidewall members and a middle wall portion is configured and adapted to fit within the interior portion of the box. The middle portion may include cutouts for restraining a glass screen protector for an electronic device. A flap configurable between an open position and a closed position may provide further protection.

Abstract: A system and method for providing reliable storage are provided. A method for initiator operations includes storing information associated with an access attempt in a store, and accessing a storage system responsive to the access attempt, wherein the storage system includes a first storage node and a second storage node arranged in a sequential loop, and where the first storage node is accessed by an initiator. The method also includes determining if the access attempt completed successfully, deleting the information from the store if the access attempt completed successfully, and indicating an error if the access attempt did not complete successfully.

Abstract: An apparatus having an active device, a plurality of traces and one or more areas is disclosed. The active device may have a channel layer. A buffer layer is generally disposed between the channel layer and a substrate. A parasitic layer may be formed at an interface between the buffer layer and the substrate. The traces may be connected to the active device. The areas are generally proximate at least one of (i) the active device and (ii) at least two of the traces from which the parasitic layer is removed.

Abstract: A color-conversion kit for a mobile electronic device, such as a mobile phone, comprises a front member, a back member, a side strip member, and a bumper member. The front member is adhered to the display side of the mobile electronic device while the back member is adhered to the back of the mobile electronic device. The side strip member is adhered to the sides of the mobile electronic device. The bumper member is applied to the sides of the electronic device over the side strip member. A transparent portion of the bumper member allows viewing of the side strip member even though covered by the bumper member.

Abstract: A method of capturing business intelligence requirements includes establishing a graphical object definition interface, receiving user input through this interface to define various requirements objects, and storing the user-defined requirements objects in an object library. A graphical business intelligence outputs interface can also be established, such that users can provide input to define business intelligence outputs, each of which includes at least one requirements object from the object library expressed in reports and/or dashboards. Systems for practicing this and related methods are also disclosed.

Abstract: Techniques for allowing prospective hotel guests to check-in online are provided. An online check-in service sends, to a computing device of a prospective guest, an electronic notification that indicates that the prospective user can check-in online instead of having to wait in line at the hotel. A series of pages are presented to the prospective guest, such as a page to allow the prospective guest to specify room preferences and other requests, a page to allow the prospective guest to accept an upgrade offer, a page to confirm payment, and/or a page that shows a room assignment. In this way, a guest does not have to wait in a hotel lobby to be assigned a room. Also, a hotel may be notified when a confirmed guest is approaching the hotel to allow hotel staff to make any arrangements necessary to expedite the process of getting the guest to his/her room.

Abstract: A data distribution system is provided which supplies customers with an executable for requested secured data files to provide the customer with fulfillment software, obviating the need for the customer to download fulfillment software prior to requesting secure data. The data distribution system is characterized by server technology which can dynamically encrypt secured data files just prior to a customer request to download the data file. A framework for building a universal data distribution infrastructure is provided which employs Requesters.
