  • Publication number: 20090211647
Abstract: A valve assembly for filling a bag with a beverage under pressure has a valve body having a first passageway extending therethrough and a first valve seated in the first passageway for controlling the flow of beverage through the first passageway into and out of the bag. A pressure relief passageway extends through the valve body from inside the bag to within the container. A bursting disk is seated with the valve body normally closing the pressure relief passageway and is adapted to rupture permitting fluid to escape from the bag through the pressure relief passageway and into the container surrounding the bag when the pressure in the bag exceeds a predetermined pressure value.

  • Publication number: 20080128456
Abstract: An alcohol beverage dispensing appliance has a container housed in the appliance and a tap adapter mounted to the container for dispensing beverage from the container. The tap adapter has a first gas connector and a gas line adapted for connection with the container for charging the container with pressurized gas to facilitate beverage dispensing. The tap adapter has at least one gas connecting locating member. The appliance has a gas supply line housed in the container that has a second gas connector adapted for sealing engagement with the first gas connector. The appliance has a guideway for locating the second gas connector that is adapted for receiving the gas connecting locating member of the tap adapter in sliding and guiding relation to permit movement of the first gas connector into sealing relation with the second gas connector.

  • Patent number: 6196464
Abstract: When selected documents traveling along a first feed path (46) are to be fed to a second feed path (48), a solenoid is energized causing pivotal movement of a pair of flipper arms (56a, 56b) so as to direct the documents onto the second feed path (48). When the solenoid is de-energized, documents on the first feed path (46) may proceed to the continuation portion thereof i.e., path (46a), or documents from the second feed path (48) may be fed to the continuation portion (46a) of the first feed path (46). The flipper arms (56a, 56b) are coupled by gearing mechanisms so that they are moveable relative to each other, pivotal movement of one flipper arm (56a, 56b) causing pivotal movement of the other arm (56a, 56b). Such relative movement between the flipper arms (56a, 56b) allows for a compact and reliable structure and activation of the mechanism is required only when documents are to be fed from the first feed path (46) to the second feed path (48).

  • Patent number: 5718528
Abstract: A cutting mechanism for a printing apparatus is described. The cutting mechanism is particularly suitable for tape printers. In the cutting mechanism, one of a cutting blade and an anvil is mounted for rolling motion with respect to the other so that as the rolling motion occurs a cut is made through the tape. Moreover, the cutting mechanism can be actuated by a handle which lies flush with the printer casing and which can be actuated externally of the casing.

  • Patent number: 5601375
Abstract: An automatic tape detecting and tape width identifying printing apparatus or tape holder wherein the printing apparatus and tape holder include an optical sensing arrangement having at least first and second optical sensing assemblies. The first and second optical sensing assemblies each, preferably, include a photo transistor and a light emitting diode. The photo transistor is located to receive and detect light from the light emitting diode. The first and second optical sensing assemblies are located to automatically detect the presence or absence of tape within the tape holder. In a preferred embodiment, the first optical sensing assembly is located to automatically discriminate the presence of a particular width, w2, of tape within the tape holder. In addition, the second optical sensing assembly is located to automatically discriminate the presence of a different width, w1, of tape within the tape holder.

  • Patent number: 5458423
Abstract: A tape printing device is described which has cutting means capable of providing a tab cut and a multiple strip of labels. The printing device also enables label lengths to be controlled and to control the cutting process in response to these label lengths.

  • Patent number: 5456545
Abstract: A printing device comprises a zone for receiving tape for printing so that said tape passes along a predetermined path in the printing device; and an optical sensing arrangement comprising first and second optical sensing assemblies which enable an end of tape state to be detected and also allow discrimination between tapes of different widths.
