Abstract: A standing structure is formed by a plurality of poles and a holder movable between an open position and a closed position. In the closed position, the holder is dimensioned and configured to grip each of the plurality of poles and hold the poles in a standing structure. The poles form the legs of the structure. The holder is also configured to release the poles when moved to the open position to enable disassembly of the standing structure. A closure mechanism secures the holder in a closed position and a release mechanism releases the closure mechanism and thereby releases the poles from the holder. Accessories may be mounted on the standing structure. For example, with the holder attached to the midsection of the poles, a seat is mounted on the upper ends of the poles to form a stool. With the holder attached to the upper ends of the poles, accessories such as a camera mount, a table top, or a lantern may be attached to the holder to form various useful structures.
