  • Patent number: 4572429
Abstract: The energy requirements of a sock finishing factory consisting at least of a dye house, boarding room and a warehouse are greatly reduced and the working conditions of employees are improved by utilizing waste heat from the boarding room to provide heat for the dye house water requirements and seasonal heat for the warehouse and by supply some of the heat for the dye house water from the air conditioning condenser system.

Date of Patent: February 25, 1986
    Assignee: Albertus W. Huffman
Inventors: Albertus W. Huffman, Jr., Andrew Truhan
  • Patent number: 4260401
Abstract: A cyclone-type particulate collector and concentrator is provided wherein the outlet tube is provided with a conical concentrator having its sidewalls formed of a plurality of tapered, spaced, nested, generally U-shaped and cross-section vaned members between which the gas entering the outlet tube must pass in flowing to the outlet end of the outlet tube. A portion of the sidewall of the outlet tube of the cyclone-type particulate collector is provided with a gate to act as a particulate skimmer which opens into the gas inlet volute for recirculation of the skimmed particles.

  • Patent number: 4246013
Abstract: A cyclone vortex type air cleaner and particulate concentrator is provided having greatly improved air cleaning efficiency as the dirty gas stream is subjected to two distinct skimming operations; one between the gas inlet scroll and the outlet tube and the other at the exit from the gas discharge scroll. The invention may further include means for increasing agglomeration of the particulate by increasing centrifugal separation in an inlet scroll, an outlet scroll and in the outlet tube from the shell or body of the cyclone.

  • Patent number: 4237780
Abstract: A prefilter and a filter are made from wood chips, and carbonized wood chips respectively, and the filters are employed to remove hydrocarbon fumes generated in paint spray booths. The filters are subsequently incinerated and the heat of incineration may then be used as a source of energy. The system is particularly advantageous for furniture manufacturing plants which produce abundant wood chips and have air pollution problems associated with their spray paint or finishing booths.

  • Patent number: 4224900
Abstract: The galliformes such as chickens are raised in a housing having a plurality of intercommunicable rooms, each of the rooms, except the first two, comprising progressively larger areas and each of said rooms including the first two being provided with independently controlled heating, ventilating, lighting, watering and feeding means, and means for progressively moving the birds sequentially through each such room at a rate such that the birds are at a predetermined maturity upon departure from the last of the rooms. In a preferred embodiment the floors of each room are heated and the floor of each room except the first two are corregated so that the bodies of the birds are generally not in contact with droppings and moisture in the droppings is rapidly evaporated.

  • Patent number: 4201256
Abstract: The invention presented herein is a suction device for removing particles from the cutting area of a cutting tool via a duct arrangement including a large particle separator, a blower, a cyclone separator, a bypass means whereby a portion of the outlet air of the cyclone separator is used as a medium to transport particles separated by said cyclone separator and the remaining air outlet of said cyclone separator is recirculated to the cutting tool in the area of the vacuum pickup means.

  • Patent number: 4151811
Abstract: Small animals and particularly the galliformes such as chickens are raised in a housing having a plurality of intercommunicable rooms, each of the rooms comprising progressively larger areas and each of said rooms being provided with independently controlled, heating, ventilating, lighting and feeding means, and means for progressively moving the small animals sequentially through each such room at a rate such that the animals are at a predetermined maturity upon departure from the last of the rooms.
