  • Patent number: 11037705
Abstract: There is described a clocking angle setting tool for a wire harness having a support arm provided with a clamp for attaching a harness cable of the wire harness to the support; arm, a connector receptacle for receiving a connector provided at the end of the harness cable and a key or keyway for engaging with a complementary keyway or key of the connector. The connector receptacle is spaced from the clamp and is rotatably mounted to the support arm. A locking mechanism for locking an angular position of the connector receptacle relative to the support arm is included. The angular position of the connector receptacle relative to the support arm determines a clocking angle of the connector relative to the harness cable.

  • Publication number: 20190136821
Abstract: There is described a clocking angle setting tool 24 for a wire harness comprising: a support arm 26 provided with a clamp 34 for attaching a harness cable of the wire harness to the support arm 26; a connector receptacle 32 for receiving a connector provided at the end of the harness cable and having a key or keyway for engaging with a complementary keyway or key of the connector, wherein the connector receptacle 32 is spaced from the clamp 34 and is rotatably mounted to the support arm 26; and a locking mechanism for locking an angular position of the connector receptacle relative to the support arm; wherein the angular position of the connector receptacle relative to the support arm determines a clocking angle of the connector relative to the harness cable. A method of setting a clocking angle of a wire harness is also described.

  • Patent number: 8474298
Abstract: A hollow component is adjusted in shape, for example to correct circularity, by means of a shape adjusting tool. The tool comprises a base structure on which adjuster elements are guided. An adjustment ring has a ramp surface corresponding to each adjuster element so that rotation of the adjustment ring causes radial displacement of the adjuster elements 6. The adjuster elements are displaced in unison, and engage the internal surface of the component to be adjusted so as to deform the component to the desired shape. The segments are interconnected by rigid links and a single flexible link, and are supported on bearing rollers mounted on the base structure.

Abstract: A hollow component is adjusted in shape, for example to correct circularity, by means of a shape adjusting tool. The tool comprises a base structure 2 on which adjuster elements 6 are guided. An adjustment ring 8 has a ramp surface 26 corresponding to each adjuster element 6 so that rotation of the adjustment ring 8 causes radial displacement of the adjuster elements 6. The adjuster elements 6 are displaced in unison, and engage the internal surface of the component to be adjusted so as to deform the component to the desired shape. The segments 20 are interconnected by rigid links 32 and a single flexible link 34, and are supported on baring rollers 36 mounted on the base structure 2.

  • Publication number: 20120041585
Abstract: An adjustable locator includes a locator element for contact with a workpiece supported on a fixture. The locator comprises a support element in which a ramp element is slidable. The ramp element has a ramp surface which is contacted by a plunger which carries the locator element. Displacement of the ramp element causes displacement of the plunger to adjust the position of the locator element with respect to the support element. A ratchet mechanism permits displacement of the ramp element in one direction, but prevents such movement in the opposite direction. The adjustable locator can be used in a workpiece fixture to achieve an optimum orientation of a workpiece prior to machining.
