Abstract: Systems and devices are disclosed for recommending items in a video series to a group of viewers. In general, video series item recommendations are generated for a viewer group detected within a viewing area of a media device based on personal viewing histories of users in the viewer group. In one embodiment, the video series item recommendations are recommendations for video series items that: (a) are from one or more video series historically viewed by at least a first predefined minimum threshold number of users in the viewer group and (b) have not yet been viewed by any of at least a second predefined minimum threshold number of users in the viewer group. The video series item recommendations are then provided to the viewer group.

Abstract: Systems, methods, and devices are disclosed for transferring video display between video playback devices. In one embodiment, a mobile, or handheld, device having a media broker detects a renderer. The mobile device initiates a transfer request to the media broker, the transfer request includes identifying information for the renderer. In one embodiment, the mobile device receives at the media broker a playback state of a media content on the renderer. The mobile device requests the media content from a media controller and receives and displays the media content from the media controller. In one embodiment, the transfer request directs the media broker to transfer content being displayed on the renderer to the mobile device.

Abstract: A method synchronizing digital radio content and media content for a client device is disclosed including receiving a digital radio broadcast comprising digital radio content over a terrestrial radio broadcast spectrum, wherein the digital radio broadcast includes an associated subcarrier data channel of the digital radio broadcast comprising geo-tagged Internet Protocol (IP) multicast addresses that identify streams of media content available separately over a multicast network; receiving at least one of the streams of media content over the multicast network that is selected based on a match of at least one of the geo-tagged IP multicast addresses to a current location of the client device; time synchronizing the media content to the digital radio broadcast; and presenting the time synchronized at least one of the streams of media content and the digital radio content for playback by the client device. Abstract: This disclosure relates generally to systems and methods for informing users regarding one or more conversations currently occurring within a geographic area of interest (GOI). In one embodiment, a user device associated with a user obtains conversation data for the GOI from a server computer. The conversation data may indicate a topic of the conversation and a location of the conversation. The user device may then present a visual representation of the GOI to the user. For example, the visual representation may be a map or a viewfinder frame captured by a camera of the GOI. The user device may present one or more visual indicators. At least one visual indicator is presented in association with the visual representation of the GOI in order to represent the topic of the conversation and the location of the conversation.
