Abstract: There is provided a multi-player game controller system first and second hand-held game controllers and engagement circuitry. The first hand-held game controller includes a first input control configured to generate a first input control signal in response to interaction with a first user. The second input controller includes a second input control configured to generate a second input control signal in response to interaction with a second user. The first and second hand-held game controllers have engagement states of an engaged state and an unengaged state. The engagement circuitry is configured to generate an engagement signal when the first and second hand-held game controllers are in an engagement state. There is also provided methods of operating the multi-player game controller system.
