  • Publication number: 20210166813
Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for determining whether a test subject has a disease condition. In one aspect, the method includes determining at least first and second genotypic data constructs for a test subject, formed from data collected from first and second sample from the subject, respectively, at different times. The first and second genotypic data constructs are inputted into a model for the disease condition, thereby generating first and second model score sets for the disease condition, respectively. A test delta score set is determined based on a difference between the first and second model score sets. The test delta score set is evaluated against a plurality of reference delta score sets, to determine the disease condition of the test subject, where each reference delta score set is for a respective reference subject in a plurality of reference subjects.

  • Publication number: 20110098200
Abstract: The present invention provides methods of producing dsDNA molecules that can be used to mediate RNA interference (RNAi). These methods include the production of hairpin DNAs including random sequences, and the use of convergent promoters to co-express sense and antisense RNAs. As such, the invention allows the production of random short hairpin RNA (shRNA) and a small interfering RNA (siRNA) expression libraries for forward genetic screening.

  • Publication number: 20070268164
Abstract: A method for delivering media content over a network includes transcoding the media content to generate multiple copies of the media content, each of the multiple copies having a different destination type or a different source type or both, storing the multiple copies in a cache, receiving requests for the media content, and selecting and delivering a copy of one of the multiple copies in response to each of the requests. A further method for providing media content transcoding services includes fetching media content, selecting one of multiple transcoders for transcoding from multiple source types to multiple destination types, wherein the one transcoder is selected based at least on the destination type, sending the media content to the selected transcoder, transcoding the media content to the destination type, thereby generating transcoded media content, and transmitting the transcoded media content.

  • Publication number: 20070067390
Abstract: A system, method, and computer program product for publishing transcoded media content in response to publishing service requests from end users. A user request for media content, is processed intelligently, either by directing the processing of the request to one of a set of transcoding servers so as to effectively balance the load among the servers, or by directing the processing of the request to an appropriate alternative means for satisfying the request. Transcoding tasks can be prioritized. Moreover, the current load on any particular transcoding server can be monitored in conjunction with determination of the load to be created by a transcoding task, in order to facilitate server selection. Transcoding can be performed on-demand or in a batch mode. Alternatively, a request can be satisfied by distributing media content that has already been transcoded and is resident in cache memory in anticipation of such requests.

  • Patent number: 6317134
Abstract: A computer system having a shared system memory, and system software in the computer system, are described herein. The computer system has a general purpose, shared system memory that is used for all processing, including video input/output operations, image conversion operations, and rendering operations. In operation, a digital media (DM) Pbuffer is created. The DM Pbuffer is aliased as a DM buffer in the system memory. This is done by storing in a color buffer identifier of the DM Pbuffer an identifier of the DM buffer. Thereafter, all graphical rendering operations directed to the DM Pbuffer are actually performed using the DM buffer.

  • Patent number: 6070002
Abstract: A computer system having a shared system memory, and system software in the computer system, are described herein. One or more user applications execute in the computer system. The computer system has a general purpose, shared system memory that is used for all processing, including video input/output operations and image conversion operations. The computer system also has a multimedia access and control module (MACM), which is the input/output interface between the computer system and the external world. In operation, the MACM receives, at one of its video input ports, video data comprising a video image (such as a frame or a field). The MACM stores the video image in a first buffer contained in a first buffer pool of the system memory. The first buffer pool was previously created by a user application. The user application previously associated the first buffer pool with the MACM's video input port. A video imaging and compression module (VICM) performs image conversion operations.
