Abstract: An absorbent core, intended for use in an absorbent product such as a panty liner, is disclosed, comprising an absorbent material and a superabsorbent material. The core has a first extension in a longitudinal direction and a second extension in a transverse direction, and a longitudinal central line extending through the core, located between a first longitudinal portion and a second longitudinal portion. The first and second longitudinal portions are symmetric about the longitudinal central line. The core has a head portion, an intermediate portion and a rear portion extending in a longitudinal direction of the core. The head portion includes mirror imaged first circular segment portions and first edge lines to which the circular segment portions transition. The intermediate portion includes mirror imaged first convex edge portions. The rear portion includes second edge lines tapering towards a rear end and the central line of the core in an angle.

The product includes an absorption body, which includes, in its thickness direction, a liquid-receiving, open-cell foam layer and a liquid-absorbent fibrous layer. The liquid-receiving, open-cell foam layer has a total surface that covers the entire surface of the liquid-absorbent, fibrous layer in the plane extension; each of the longitudinally extending side edges extends at least along a part of its length outside of each of the longitudinally running side edges of the liquid-absorbent, fibrous layer; and has an air permeability that is greater than 200 m3/m2/min and an opacity greater than 35%. The liquid-absorbent, fibrous layer has a bending stiffness greater than 2.0 newtons measured according to the modified Circular Bend Procedure method.

Abstract: An absorbent article includes at least two stacked individual absorbent pads. A first of said absorbent pads is configured for being releasably attached to an underwear of a user, and a bottom surface of a second of said absorbent pads is configured for being releasably attached to a top surface of said first absorbent pad. The second absorbent pad includes at least one side portion which has been folded upwardly and inwardly along a substantially longitudinal fold line, such as to form an easily graspable gripping flap for simplifying manual handling of the second absorbent pad during removal thereof from the first absorbent pad. A method for manufacturing such an absorbent article also is disclosed.

The absorption member having an upper side intended to face a wearer during use of the article and a lower side intended to face away from the wearer during use of the article, and a stiffening element that, at least during use of the article, provides the article with a predetermined shape that enhances the fit of the article to the wearer's body. The stiffening element is fastened to the lower side of the absorption member and the stiffening element includes a piece of material formed into a layered structure that significantly contributes to the stiffness of the stiffening element. The layered structure can be extended to a non-layered structure. The piece of material is provided with a first attachment for locking a rolled up or folded used article.
