  • Patent number: 4280321
Abstract: A device is disclosed, as an attachment to a spinning, or a doubling frame, for stopping the rotation of the spindle and the sliver feed whenever a sliver or a thread breaks and for giving, at the same time, a warning signal (e.g. a luminous signal) to a watching operator. The device comprises a thread feeling whisker connected to a circuit which controls electromagnetic clutches connected to the spindle, and the spindle braking and stopping mechanism is connected by a flexible cable to a sliver-pinching press so that as soon as the spindle is being braked and stopped the sliver is pinched and sliver feed is discontinued. The electric circuit also comprises an indicator lamp.

  • Patent number: 4279119
Abstract: In a spindle assembly of a spinning or twisting frame, the improvement consisting in inserting, between the stator and the rotor of the spindle assembly, braking members made of an antifriction material in the form of arcuate blocks or sectors which act also as spacers for the revolving members (usually spheres) which match the stator with the rotor. The device solves the problem of providing a braking action for providing the thread tension without problems of overheating the thread being spun.

  • Patent number: 4255925
Abstract: The scaffolding intended for supporting the entire structure of a spinning frame or a like machine is made of individual intermediate sections which are united to a header and a tail section and are serially connected to each other in the intermediate portion of the machine. Each section is composed by two spaced apart shell-like sidewalls connected together by tubular longitudinally extending members. The sections are united by bolting them together so that the tubular members form conduits for removing linters and like airborne materials sucked by an exhauster. Sound-absorbing slabs are inserted between every two adjoining section sidewalls to diminish the noise level.

  • Patent number: 4256202
Abstract: For improving the lubrication of the rotary rings in spinning and twisting frames, a device is provided which is composed by an annular oil reservoir formed in the ring carrier immediately below the stator body, the bottom edge of the rotor body projecting into the oil reservoir and being at a distance from the inner wall of the reservoir so as to form an air passage through which atmospherical air can be drawn into the reservoir when the ring is rapidly rotated: an atomization of the oil is thus originated and the airborne oil particles may reach all the points to be lubricated.

  • Patent number: 4161863
Abstract: In a ring spinning and/or twisting frame, to prevent overheating of the traveller and the yarn treated thereby and also to suppress as far as possible the top limits to the speed of rotation of the spindles, a rider having a ringlike shape and having a surface portion intended to be slid on the body of the stator of the ring being hooked to the rotor body of the ring, said rider being also provided with a portion spaced apart from the sliding portion and intended to allow the yarn being processed to run therethrough. The invention has a number of embodiments, a fair number of which are illustrated. Aerodynamic means are also provided to equip said rider for providing a braking action therefor.

  • Patent number: 4150531
Abstract: In a ring-type spinning or twisting frame in which the ring stator and the rotor are coupled to one another with rolling members inserted therebetween in grooves formed facing each other in the rotor and the stator, braking means being provided between the stator and the rotor, the improvement is disclosed according to which an annular bracket is provided beneath the annular cage, the seats for the rolling members having appropriately sloping edges, so that when the spinning frame starts its rotation, the annular cage is lifted, whereas the contrary occurs when the spindles are stopped, so that the cage is allowed to fall due to its own weight and the rotor is stopped instantaneously.

  • Patent number: 4138778
Abstract: For mounting and dismantling a resilient liner of a pressing roller of a draft-frame in textile machinery preparatory to spinning, a method is suggested which comprises the steps of positioning the liner on a temporary supporting member, inserting the roller into the liner with a snug fit while simultaneously slipping the temporary supporting member away. The worn out liner can be removed by cutting it longitudinally on at least two parallel lines by means of radially projecting blades mounted on a specially provided collar, the cut liner being then manually peeled off. An apparatus for performing these operations quickly and conveniently is also described. The method and apparatus in question permit to dispense with adhesives for fastening the resilient sleeve to its own supporting member, and affords the possibility of removing the resilient layer without damaging the roller in any wise.

  • Patent number: 4087699
Abstract: In a textile machine of the kind which processes a material in the form of a web or a gauze, a circuit for checking the continuity of said web or gauze, said circuit being branched off from the circuit which feeds the machine proper and ending in two terminals between which the web or gauze is caused to run, so that, when no web or gauze is interposed between said terminals, the branched off circuit is closed and electromagnetic means enter action to stop the machine.

  • Patent number: 4040146
Abstract: This invention relates to a device for distributing textile fiber slivers inside collection boxes in spinning preparation machines, in particular in drawing frames. The device according to the invention comprises a plate rotating above the collection box and containing an eccentric outlet connected by a duct fixed to the plate to a substantially axial inlet which faces guide calendars for a sliver leaving a spinning preparation machine; the duct is formed by two tubular portions, which are partially inserted in one another and form a cylindrical passage external to the portion defining the duct inlet. In this manner the sliver is guided delicately by a cushion of air centrifuged towards the duct outlet and the friction due to rubbing of the sliver on the duct in proximity of the duct outlet is reduced to a minimum.

  • Patent number: 4000541
Abstract: An installation is disclosed for continuously and automatically performing the admixture of textile fibers of different natures prior to spinning. The fibers are taken from bales of different fibers continually, the metering of fibers of each individual kind being automatically controlled by a scale, the seizing device having a bridge-like configuration and being moved along a closed or open loop path. The component fibers of the admixture are then dumped into a specially provided container, wherefrom they are fed forward to subsequent processing and/or treatment machines.

  • Patent number: 3990222
Abstract: There is disclosed a device for removing cops in roving frames in which the cops are formed by the combined action of a vertically reciprocable carriage and a flyer suspended above each rotatable tube contained in a cop support bed of the carriage. According to the invention, the cop support bed is pivoted to the carriage in such a manner as to swing in the direction of removal of the cops, means being provided to automatically induce this swing when the carriage is in the completely lowered position. By so doing, the cop removal is made more simple, while the overall dimensions of the machine are not altered.
