  • Patent number: 6608174
Abstract: The present invention encompasses radiolabeled peptide analogs of vasoactive intestinal peptide (VIP) labeled with a radionuclide useful for imaging target sites within mammalian living systems. The invention particularly provides radiolabeled VIP derivatives that bind selectively to the VIP receptor on target cells. Specifically, the invention relates to the radiolabeling of VIP-receptor specific agents and their subsequent use for radiodiagnostic and radiotherapeutic purposes. The invention encompasses methods for radiolabeling these peptides with radio-nuclides and the use of these peptides as scintigraphic imaging agents.

  • Patent number: 5768480
Abstract: Techniques for integrating rules into imperative object-oriented languages such as C++. C++ is extended to permit definition of rules as members of classes. When a rule is defined as a member of a class, a preprocessor receives the declaration of the rule's class and of any other class involved in the rule and generates additional data members and member functions for the classes. The additional members of the classes permit a complete implementation of the rule. No additional rule interpreter or decision network is required. The rule definition defines collections of objects linked by interobject pointers to which the rule applies. A rule is evaluated only if there is a change in a value mentioned in the rule in an object belonging to a collection of objects for the rule. The rule's condition is a sequence of bindings and tests. The bindings define a path through a collections of objects to which the rule applies, and the path is followed during evaluation. The rules thus implement access-limited logic.

  • Patent number: 4182966
Abstract: A ventilation system is provided for dynamoelectric machines such as hydro generators having salient pole rotors and in which the rotor and stator have separate ventilation systems sealed from the air gap. The stator ventilation system includes radial vent ducts with longitudinal ducts in the stator core extending between adjacent radial vent ducts. The longitudinal ducts are sealed from the air gap and are disposed in the region of the stator windings, preferably extending through the teeth. Ventilating air flows radially inward through the vent ducts, longitudinally through the longitudinal ducts from one vent duct to the next, and radially outward to the external circuit where it is circulated through coolers, by means of a blower or otherwise.

  • Patent number: 3997803
Abstract: A rotor member is provided for dynamoelectric machines having a laminated core with radial ventilating ducts extending through the core and passages for ventilating air extending longitudinally of the core and communicating with the radial ducts. The longitudinal air passages decrease in cross-sectional area from one end of the core to the other in a manner to produce substantially equal velocity of air flow through all of the radial ducts to insure uniformity of temperature from one end of the rotor to the other.
