Patent number: 11977757Abstract: Profile switching for memory overclocking is described. In accordance with the described techniques, a memory is operated according to a first memory profile. During operation of the memory according to the first memory profile, a request is received to operate the memory according to a second memory profile. Responsive to the request, operation of the memory is switched to operate according to the second memory profile without rebooting. In one or more implementations, at least one of the first memory profile or the second memory profile comprises an overclocking memory profile that configures the memory to operate in an overclocking mode. In one or more implementations, the memory is trained to operate according to the overclocking memory profile prior to operating the memory according to the first memory profile.Type: GrantFiled: April 29, 2022Date of Patent: May 7, 2024Assignee: Advanced Micro Devices, Inc.Inventors: Grant Evan Ley, Jayesh Hari Joshi, Amitabh Mehra, Jerry Anton Ahrens, Joshua Taylor Knight, Anil Harwani, William Robert Alverson

Publication number: 20240143445Abstract: Stability testing for memory overclocking is described. In accordance with the described techniques, operation of a memory with overclocked memory settings is testing during a boot up process of a computing device. Test results based on the testing are exposed via a user interface. The test results predict a stability of the memory over a subsequent time period if the memory is configured to operate with the overclocked memory settings.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 27, 2022Publication date: May 2, 2024Applicant: Advanced Micro Devices, Inc.Inventors: Alicia Wen Ju Yurie Leong, William Robert Alverson, Joshua Taylor Knight, Jerry Anton Ahrens, Grant Evan Ley, Anil Harwani, Amitabh Mehra, Jayesh Hari Joshi

Publication number: 20240111622Abstract: A disclosed method can include (i) reporting, by a microcontroller, detection of a violation of a physical infrastructure constraint to a machine check architecture, (ii) triggering, by the machine check architecture in response to the reporting, a machine-check exception such that the violation of the physical infrastructure constraint is recorded, and (iii) performing a corrective action based on the triggering of the machine-check exception. Various other apparatuses, systems, and methods are also disclosed.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 30, 2022Publication date: April 4, 2024Applicant: Advanced Micro Devices, IncInventors: Siddharth K. Publication number: 20240103591Abstract: Power management using temperature gradient information is described. In accordance with the described techniques, temperature measurements of a component are obtained from two or more sensors of the component. A temperature of a hotspot of the component is predicted based on the temperature measurements obtained from the two or more sensors of the component. Operation of the component is adjusted based on the predicted temperature of the hotspot.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 29, 2022Publication date: March 28, 2024Applicant: ATI Technologies ULCInventors: Adam Neil Calder Clark, Anil Harwani, Amitabh Mehra

Patent number: 10509641Abstract: Variety of approaches to optimize a feature deployment based on an usage pattern are described. A hosted service initiates operations to optimize the feature deployment upon detecting a feature update associated with an application. Next, a target audience for the feature update is identified by processing an usage pattern signal of the application based on information update and an organizational rule associated with the feature update. The feature update is deployed to the target audience.Type: GrantFiled: February 4, 2019Date of Patent: December 17, 2019Assignee: Microsoft Technology Licensing, LLCInventors: Gregory Bershansky, Anil Mehra, Sanjay Garg, Christian D. Patent number: 6695264Abstract: The present invention is a power lever tactile cueing system for providing tactile alerts to pilots as operational limits of an aircraft are approached. The cueing system generates a tactile cue comprising a variable dive rate and a variable friction force on a power lever of an aircraft. The cueing system provides spring-like tactile cues when power commands reach a predetermined operating limit, without the use of mechanical springs. The cueing system trims down the power lever position and provides the additional friction force based upon aircraft and engine state. The cueing system remains activated until the aircraft is again operated within its operational limits. The pilot may override the cueing system in certain situations.Type: GrantFiled: November 12, 2002Date of Patent: February 24, 2004Assignee: Bell Helicopter Textron, Inc.Inventors: Joseph M. Schaeffer, David W. King, Anil Mehra
