  • Publication number: 20150039226
Abstract: An indoor positioning system and method of localizing a person/object in an indoor environment by identifying the orientation and direction of a person/object to provide a true location of the person/object without navigation errors. The system comprises magnets disposed on a doorway to create a unique magnetic field; a wireless communication unit comprising a magnetometer sensor to sense perturbations in each of the unique magnetic fields in the event that the person/object with the wireless communication unit passes through the doorway, and generate corresponding signals; a processor receiving the signals and extracting data from the same; and a backend server wirelessly communicating with the wireless communication unit, the backend server processing the data sample received from the wireless communication unit to identify the opening and the wireless communication unit to localize the person/object.

  • Publication number: 20150031965
Abstract: A method for monitoring physiological parameters associated with a subject using a hand held device is described herein. In an implementation, the method includes obtaining a plurality of sample photoplethysmographic (PPG) features associated with a sample subject, from a video of a body part of the sample subject. From among the plurality of sample PPG features, at least one relevant sample PPG feature associated with the physiological parameter, is selected based on a ground truth value of the physiological parameter for the subject. Further, based on the at least one relevant sample PPG feature and the ground truth value of the physiological parameter, a mathematical model indicative of a correlation between the relevant sample PPG feature and the physiological parameter, is determined. The mathematical model can be deployed for monitoring the physiological parameter in real time.

  • Publication number: 20140351790
Abstract: An application development system for development of Internet of Things (IoT) application includes a cataloging module to obtain an input from an application developer. The input comprises data related to the IoT application to be developed. The cataloging module further retrieves a plurality of reusable artefacts from a knowledge database based on the input. A recommendation module in the application development system recommends, to the application developer, artefacts from amongst the plurality of reusable artefacts, based at least on one of a feedback associated with each of the plurality of reusable artefacts, an expert analysis, and a combination of the expert analysis and the feedback. An association module in the application development system associates artefacts selected by the application developer with each other for development of the IoT application.

  • Publication number: 20140244592
Abstract: The present subject matter discloses a system and a method for data archival. A data archiving system comprises a processor and a compression module coupled to the processor and configured to compress an original data file to generate, for each level of lossy compression, a compressed base file and a patch file. The base file is generated using a lossy compression technique. The patch file for a particular level of lossy compression is generated using information lost at the particular level of lossy compression. The data archiving system further comprises a data archiving module coupled to the processor. The data archiving system is configured to save a last base file and a plurality of patch files corresponding to each level of lossy compression, where the last base file is the base file corresponding to a last level of lossy compression.

  • Publication number: 20130166518
Abstract: Systems and methods for compression of a genomic data file are described herein. In one embodiment, genomic sequences, sequence headers, and quality sequences associated with a plurality of data streams provided in a genomic data file are identified. Each of the genomic sequences includes at least one of primary characters and secondary characters. Further, the secondary characters from each of the genomic sequences may be removed to obtain an intermediate genomic sequence file and a quality score corresponding to the secondary character may be modified in quality sequences to obtain an intermediate quality sequence file. Based on the intermediate genomic sequence file and the intermediate quality sequence file, a modified genomic sequence file and a modified quality sequence file, respectively are generated. A compressed genomic data file is obtained using at least the modified genomic sequence and the modified quality sequence.

  • Publication number: 20130132353
Abstract: The present subject matter discloses a system and a method for compression of genomic data. In one embodiment, the method for compression of genomic data includes obtaining modified genomic data from genomic data based at least in part on intermediary data identified from the genomic data. In one implementation, the modified genomic data includes a plurality of primary characters. The genomic data may then be modified to generate one or more most-frequent character files based at least on a most-frequent character and a second most-frequent character from among the plurality of primary characters. Further, based at least on the one or more most-frequent character files and the modified genomic data, a least-frequent characters file may be created from the modified genomic data.
