Abstract: Active compound combinations, which have a light protection action, of 4,4',4"-(1,3,5-triazine-2,4,6-triyltriimino)-trisbenzoic acid tris(2-ethylhexyl ester) and one or more emulsifiers chosen from the group of substances of the general structural formula wherein R.sub.1, R.sub.2 and R.sub.3 independently of one another are chosen from the group which comprises: H and branched and unbranched, saturated and unsaturated fatty acid radicals having 8 to 24 carbon atoms, in which up to three aliphatic hydrogen atoms can be replaced by hydroxyl groups, and n is a number from 2 to 8.

Abstract: Use of (a) one or more cosmetically or pharmaceutically acceptable hydrophobic inorganic pigments for achieving or increasing the water resistance of cosmetic or dermatological light protection formulations which are in the form of O/W emulsions or W/O emulsions, (b) the hydrophobic inorganic pigments being incorporated into the oily phase of the O/W emulsions or W/O emulsions, and comprise (c) one or more UV filter substances which carry one or more sulphonic acid groups or sulphonate groups on their molecular skeleton, and (d) one or more surface-active substances chosen from the group consisting of glucose derivatives and which (e) are essentially free from polyethoxylated emulsifiers.

Abstract: Cosmetic or pharmaceutical O/W emulsions which contain(a) one or more surface-active substances selected from the group consisting of glucose derivatives of the structural formula ##STR1## in which R is a branched or unbranched alkyl radical having 1 to 24 carbon atoms, R.sub.1 is either a hydrogen atom or a branched or unbranched alkyl radical having 1 to 24 carbon atoms and R.sub.2 is either a hydrogen atom or a branched or unbranched acyl radical having 1 to 24 carbon atoms,(b) one or more water-soluble, cosmetically or pharmaceutically acceptable UV filters,(c) an aqueous phase which may contain conventional substances soluble and/or dispersible therein, including especially other cosmetically or pharmaceutically acceptable UV filters, and(d) an oil phase which may contain conventional substances soluble and/or dispersible therein, including especially other cosmetically or pharmaceutically acceptable UV filters, and which are(e) essentially free of polyethoxylated emulsifiers.

Abstract: Active substance combinations of(a) one or more surface-active substances selected from the group comprising glucose derivatives,(b) one or more surface-active substances selected from the group comprising glycerol monocarboxylic or dicarboxylic acid monoesters and(c) one or more water-soluble, cosmetically or pharmaceutically acceptable UV filters.

Abstract: Active compound combinations comprising a combination of at least one substance chosen from the group consisting of 2,4-O-furfurylidenesorbitol and alkyl ethers thereof and at least one substance chosen from the group consisting of tocopherols and tocopheryl esters, and cosmetic and dermatological light protection formulations comprising such active compound combinations.

Abstract: Multiple emulsions of the W/O/W type having a continuous external aqueous phase, an oily phase dispersed therein and a second (internal) aqueous phase dispersed in this oily phase, comprising(a) at least one emulsifier whose lipophilicity increases with increasing temperature and the hydrophilicity of which increases with decreasing temperature, the emulsifier or emulsifiers changing from an HLB value <10 to an HLB value >10 in the temperature range of 40.degree.-90.degree. C.
