  • Patent number: 9057596
Abstract: A device and a method for monitoring the operational state of rotor blades of a turbine from a position facing the blade tip of a passing rotor blade: A wavesource generates an electromagnetic wave and a wave guide directs the wave towards the blade tip. The waveguide is included in a resonator defining at least one discrete resonance frequency of the wave on the waveguide. An aperture at its front end emits an energy fraction of the wave toward the blade tip. The frequency of the wave is adjusted to the resonance frequency of the resonator at the momentary operation conditions, and a measuring unit compares at least one measurement parameter of the wave directed towards the blade tip with the corresponding measurement parameter of the wave reflected from the blade tip.

  • Patent number: 6642895
Abstract: The antenna (1) is formed of a first strip element (3) the length (L1) of which is tuned to a high frequency (fh) and at least a second strip (4), following the first (4), of length (L2). The sum of the lengths L1 and L2 results in an antenna whose length L3 is tuned to a low frequency (fb). A resonant circuit (5) including an inductor (6), connected in parallel to a capacitor (7) is located between the first and second strips (3, 4). The values of these components are chosen so that the resonant circuit resonates at the high frequency (fh). When the high frequency is active, the length of the antenna is reduced to that (L1) of the first strip. When the low frequency is active, the length of the antenna extends to the sum (L3) of the lengths of the first and second strips. The inductor (6) is a substantially rectilinear band integrally formed with at least one (3) of said strips and connected to said strip by one (8) of its ends.

  • Publication number: 20030095071
Abstract: The structure described forms a PIFA antenna (10) and a shield container (11) which can contain electric circuits, particularly a transceiver associated with the antenna. It is arranged to be incorporated in a portable electronic apparatus of small volume, for example a wristwatch. In order to be as far away as possible from a body located under the apparatus and capable of absorbing or disturbing part of the radiation, the antenna (10) is arranged in the top part of the structure. The cover (14) of the case (11) includes a substantially plane external surface and an indentation (17) in a peripheral zone of the cover. The radiating element (20) of the antenna extends in the plane of said external surface, above said indentation whose bottom surface (18) forms the antenna's ground plane.

  • Patent number: 6373439
Abstract: The present invention concerns a structure forming an antenna (10) intended for a portable unit of small volume, such as a timepiece, and including a radiating element (20) of substantially rectangular shape arranged at a determined distance from a ground plane and short-circuited with this ground plane by one (20b) of its ends (20a, 20b), the opposite end (20a) of said radiating element (20) being left free. According to the present invention, said structure (10) includes a case (11) forming an integral part of said ground plane and including at least a cover (12), a bottom (14), and a lateral wall (13b) facing which is arranged said radiating element (20), said case (11) forming a shielded housing able to accommodate all or part of an electronic circuit and/or other components of the portable unit. The present invention also concerns a timepiece incorporating the aforementioned antenna structure.

  • Patent number: 6130647
Abstract: A slot antenna (21) is arranged to be connected to an asymmetrical output (29) of an antenna circuit (25). The antenna comprises a dielectric substrate (23), and a printed circuit conducting element (22; 22') attached to the substrate and defining a radiating slot (24; 24') of the antenna and having parallel edges. The antenna is characterized in that it further comprises a printed central line (27; 27') arranged in the slot (24; 2440 ) and allowing the direct connection of the output (29) in such a manner that this central line (27; 27') realizes the transition between the output and the antenna.
