  • Patent number: 9238890
Abstract: A method for making a multiply fibrous structure. The method comprising the steps of: depositing a slurry of pulp fibers onto a Fourdrinier wire running at a first velocity V1; transferring the web from the Fourdrinier wire to at least a first molding member moving at a second velocity, V2, slower than the first velocity, V1. The molding member comprises a substantially continuous relatively low density network at least partially defining a plurality of relatively high density, irregularly shaped, discrete elements situated in an irregular pattern. The embryonic web is partially dried, adhered to a Yankee dryer surface, creped from Yankee dryer and reeled at a velocity, V4, that is faster than that (V3) of the Yankee dryer.

  • Publication number: 20150272402
Abstract: A fibrous structure having a plurality of relatively high density, irregularly shaped, discrete elements. Each element is at least partially defined by a substantially continuous relatively low density network that extends about an area of the fibrous structure, wherein the plurality of relatively high density discrete elements and the substantially continuous relatively low density network together form a background pattern. The macro pattern can have a perimeter, wherein the macro pattern comprises alternating relatively low density and relatively high density regions within the perimeter.

  • Publication number: 20150272401
Abstract: A fibrous structure having a substantially continuous relatively low density network at least partially defining a plurality of relatively high density, irregularly shaped, discrete elements situated in an irregular pattern. Each of the discrete element has at least one arcuate portion on their outer perimeter, a major axis, A, and a minor axis, B, and wherein the length of the major axis, A, is greater than or equal to the length of the minor axis, B.

  • Patent number: 9011644
Abstract: A papermaking belt. The papermaking belt has a reinforcing element comprising a surface and a plurality of irregularly shaped, discrete raised portions extending from portions of the surface of the reinforcing element. The discrete raised portions are situated in an irregular pattern, wherein each of the discrete raised portions has a major axis, A, and a minor axis, B, and wherein the length of the major axis, A, is greater than or equal to the length of the minor axis, B; and a substantially continuous deflection conduit defines at least some of the discrete raised portions.

  • Publication number: 20040045685
Abstract: The invention relates to a process for the manufacture of a multi-ply tissue comprising at least two plies. The process comprises steps of mechanically refining a first slurry of fibers wherein the fibers have an average length of at least 2 mm; mixing the refined slurry with a second slurry of fibers, providing an embryonic web upon a foraminous surface, removing water from the embryonic web to form a ply; and juxtaposing at least two plies to form the multi-ply tissue.

  • Patent number: 6602387
Abstract: The present invention relates to a paper tissue, and in particular to facial tissue, and disposable handkerchiefs. Claimed and described is a paper tissue comprising at least two plies, characterized in that the paper tissue has a physiological surface smoothness parameter of less than 700 microns, preferably from 650 microns to 50 microns, more preferably from 650 microns to 300 microns and in combination has a caliper per ply of more than 0.09 mm, preferably from 0.09 mm to 0.5 mm, more preferably from 0.1 mm to 0.2 mm. In one preferred embodiment a three-ply tissue with embossed middle ply is provided. Further is a related process claimed and described.
