Abstract: A method of generating suggestions for search criteria that improve searching in a database of documents, by analyzing the documents comprising the result of the first search to find at least one potential search criterion met by at least one of the documents; and choosing search criteria that are met by a number of documents between two thresholds and give substantially different search results. An interactive and iterative method of searching a database of documents where each iteration uses criteria obtained from the analysis of the results of previous iteration.
