  • Patent number: 11217240
Abstract: A voice-interaction device includes a plurality of input and output components configured to facilitate interaction between the voice-interaction device and a target user. The plurality of input and output components may include a microphone configured to sense sound and generate an audio input signal, a speaker configured to output an audio signal to the target user, and an input component configured to sense at least one non-audible interaction from the target user. A context controller monitors the plurality of input and output components and determines a current use context. A virtual assistant module facilitates voice communications between the voice-interaction device and the target user and configures one or more of the input and output components in response to the current use context. The current use context may include whisper detection, target user proximity, gaze direction tracking and other use contexts.

  • Patent number: 10289885
Abstract: Systems and methods for keeping a display screen active that include a fingerprint sensor coupled to a processing system and configured to perform a check for a presence of a finger. The processing system may be configured to alert an operating system to cause a display screen to be in an active state based on a detection of the finger; perform a future finger sense action to detect that the finger is still interacting with the fingerprint sensor; report to an operating system, based on detecting that the finger is still interacting with the fingerprint sensor, that the display screen should remain in the active state, wherein the operating system causes the display screen to be in the active state based on the report.

  • Patent number: 9829992
Abstract: Methods and devices are provided that employ multi-function keys to present a preview of potential actions to be taken by user key presses. The input device includes a plurality of key assemblies having a touch sensitive surface. The processing system can sense when one or more respective key assemblies have been contacted or pressed by the object. When the one or more respective key assemblies has been contacted by the object, an indication of a potential action taken in the program is provided to the user. The method determines whether the one or more respective key assemblies have been contacted or pressed by an object. A potential action to be taken is determined and an indication of the potential action is provided.

  • Patent number: 9575562
Abstract: A user interface system includes a plane registration module configured to identify a first plane within an environment, and a gesture and posture recognition (GPR) module configured to observe a first allocation gesture, a second allocation gesture, a first modal gesture, a second modal gesture, and a third modal gesture within the environment. A region definition module is configured to determine a first region comprising a first portion of the first plane based on the first allocation gesture, and to determine a second region comprising a second portion of the first plane based on the second allocation gesture. A mode determination module is configured to determine different interaction modes for the various regions. A visual feedback module is configured to provide visual feedback associated with a parameter of the first region.

  • Patent number: 9244608
Abstract: A method for gesture identification includes determining a first gesture is performed on a surface sensing region. The first gesture includes at least one input object. The method further includes determining a first action corresponding to the first gesture, and issuing, based on performing the first gesture, a first report reporting the first gesture and the first action. The method further includes determining, within a first predefined length of time subsequent to performing the first gesture, a presence of the at least one input object in an above surface sensing region, determining a second action corresponding to the first gesture and the at least one input object being in the above surface sensing region within the predefined length of time, and issuing a second report reporting the second action.

  • Publication number: 20120130741
Abstract: An example an integrated patient information viewer includes a header portion to be arranged to convey identification information for a patient to a user at a glance; a timeline arranged to provide a longitudinal visualization of a patient's record; a user viewspace to display a chronological view of patient encounters and associated documents; and a document workspace to store one or more patient documents based on user placement. The timeline is to be navigable to display different portions of the patient's record based on user input, is to provide visual indicators of clusters of patient encounters, and is to expand to provide further detail on a patient encounter based on user input. The viewspace is to enable a user to one or more documents for display and comparison. The one or more patient documents are to be retrievable for display and comparison in the user viewspace.

The timeline provides visual indicators of clusters of patient encounters. The timeline expands to provide further detail on a patient encounter based on user input. The timeline includes a plurality of graphical indicators along the timeline, each graphical indicator corresponding to a patient encounter. The timeline includes a slider to facilitate user navigation along the timeline to view patient encounters. The timeline includes a scroll line associated with the slider to indicate a subset of patient encounters currently viewable in a detail view area of the timeline. The scroll line and associated detail view area are scalable based on available display real estate. The detail view area provides an expanded view of one or more encounters corresponding to a time period in the timeline encompassed by the scroll line.
