  • Patent number: 11813277
Abstract: Methods and agents for modulating intracellular coenzyme A levels are described for therapeutic purposes. Increasing intracellular coenzyme A increases alternate macrophage activation resulting in suppression or resolution of an immune response for benefit in treating inflammatory diseases. Decreasing intracellular coenzyme A levels decreases alternate macrophage activation which is beneficial in treating NASH/NAFLD and various fibrotic diseases as well as reversing immune suppressing activity of tumor-associated immune cells such as macrophages for the treatment of cancer.

  • Publication number: 20220005545
Abstract: We describe a method and apparatus for analysing a sample. The method may comprise extracting a plurality of sequence reads from within the sample. Genomic analysis is then performed on the plurality of sequence reads by comparing the plurality of sequence reads to reference genomes stored in a reference database, wherein each stored reference genome comprises a set of reference sequences. Before performing the genomic analysis, the method further comprises comparing screening sequences with at least one of the set of reference sequences and the plurality of sequence reads from the sample. When it is determined that a screening sequence matches at least one sequence within either the set of reference sequences or the plurality of sequence reads, the at least one matching sequence is masked.

  • Patent number: 9890623
Abstract: A method of inhibiting scale in a geological formation comprising depositing a binder on the formation surface, delivering a nano-material to the surface where it chemically interacts with the binder, emplacing a scale inhibitor on the formation that is absorbed by the nano-material, where a sustained release of the scale inhibitor into the geological formation results.

  • Publication number: 20080053204
Abstract: An electrochemical sensor apparatus and method for measuring scale, such as mineral scale or other particulates, which deposit on the surface of pipelines or process equipment. The device has an electrochemical cell with a working electrode and fluid flow control means positioned so as to release a fluid jet onto the working electrode. The velocity of the fluid jet is controllable and is defined by the Reynolds number of the fluid when the fluid is in the fluid flow control means. Measurement of the electrical output from the electrochemical cell and the Reynolds number provide a measure of the build-up of scale on the working electrode.
