Abstract: A pharmaceutical ointment is disclosed containing to 10 percent by mass of micronized piroxicam, 15 to 30 percent by mass of hydrophobic carrier(s), 60 to 75 percent by mass of water, 0.1 to 10 percent by mass of additive(s), and 2 to 5 percent by mass of emulsifiers selected from (i) a poly(ethylene glycol) alkyl or alkenyl ether and (ii) a sorbitane ester of a fatty acid or an oleic acid in a mass ratio of 3:1 to 1:3. The ointment is free from skin irritative action and has local antiphlogistic activity. In addition, a process for preparing he pharmaceutical ointment is provided.

Abstract: The present invention relates to an aerosol composition free of propellant gas, comprising nitroglycerin as active ingredient. The composition according to the invention is composed of:0.1 to 4% by weight of nitroglycerin,51 to 90% by weight of a C.sub.2-4 aliphatic alcohol (component A),10 to 49% by weight of a polyalkyleneglycol comprising 2 or 3 carbon atoms in the alkylene moiety (component B.sub.1) and/or a C.sub.2-8 alcohol comprising two or three hydroxy groups (component B.sub.2)optionally together with one or more pharmaceutically acceptable carriers and/or diluents.
