  • Publication number: 20080004110
Abstract: A system (1) for playing board games comprises a game board (2) and at least one pawn (20). The game board comprises display means (4, 5 and 6) for displaying on a board surface (3) a game board layout. The display means are further arranged to display a pawn input image (22) on the board surface (3). The pawn (20) comprises a contact surface (21) for supporting the pawn (20) on the board surface (3), and an image input part (23) cooperating with the board surface (3) to receive the pawn input image (22). The pawn also comprises an image surface (24) to display a pawn output image (25), and means for conducting (26) the pawn input image (24) from the image input part (23) to the image surface (24).

  • Publication number: 20070242032
Abstract: Display apparatus with a display area (2) having a plurality of pixels (9), a mixing unit (3) for preparing a predetermined quantity of color material for one of the plurality of pixels (9), and a transfer unit (4) for transferring the predetermined quantity for a pixel (9) to the associated pixel position in the display area (2). The transfer of color material can be based on an electro-wetting mechanism, an electrophoresis mechanism or a pumping mechanism.

  • Publication number: 20070230159
Abstract: The invention relates to a lighting device (1) comprising a lighting unit (2) and a user interface (3) for controlling the lighting colour and/or intensity of the lighting unit (2). The user interface (3) comprises a sensing device (5) with a large number of conductive elements (6), which responds to the proximity of a conductive object, like for instance a human finger pointing to the user interface (3). The user interface (3) can be based on proximity sensing or on touch-control. In both cases an element (6) on the outer surface (4) of the user interface (3) is selected, which corresponds to one of the selectable colours and/or intensities of the lighting unit (2). The selected element (6) generates an output signal which is sent to a processing unit (9), which converts this output signal into a driving signal suitable for the driver circuit (8) to drive the light sources (7).

  • Publication number: 20060244718
Abstract: The invention provides a method of activating an electronic paint (50). A registration code embedded in a first portion (20) of an image written on a portion of an electronic paint (50) is scanned. A position of an electronic brush (30) is determined based on the scanned registration code, and a second portion (22) of the image is written on the electronic paint (50) based on the determined position of the electronic brush (30).

  • Publication number: 20060176269
Abstract: The invention provides a method of activating an electronic paint (50). An electronic-paint registration code on a coded portion (20) of an electronic paint (50) is scanned. A position of an electronic brush (30) relative to the coded portion (20) of the electronic paint (50) is determined based on the scanned electronic-paint registration code, and a predetermined image is written on the electronic paint (50) based on the position of the electronic brush (30).

  • Publication number: 20060114421
Abstract: The invention relates to a method of providing images on a screen and to an image projection device. The image projection device (10) comprises at least one first set (12) of light-emitting units provided in an array including at least two lines of light-emitting units having at least two light-emitting units each, and a light-displacing unit (36) arranged to displace the light from each light-emitting unit before projection on a screen (16), such that each light-emitting unit provides a tile comprising a line including at least two pixels aligned in one direction on the screen. The light-emitting units are preferably LEDs, and in this way, an efficient display or projector that can be accommodated in a reasonably small space is provided.
