  • Patent number: 11927050
Abstract: A window frame assembly includes a pair of identical half-frames that can be reversed to mate with each other, with glazing trapped between them. The half-frames are unitary plastic moldings. They include respective arrays of securement fittings that include both male and female fittings. The half-frames have a primary mold opening and closing direction. The securement fittings are formed with transversely moving mold inserts that form the interlocking barbed one-way engagement profiles of the securement fittings. The frames include externally facing surfaces that are free of external fastening hardware. The molded half-frames have abutment stops the prevent over-engagement. They also have window bezels that for a flange relative to the external fascia profile. There is a separate internal peripheral wall stem, to which the male and female fittings abut.

  • Patent number: 9982478
Abstract: A door seal fitting, such as for a garage door, may include a main body or mounting fitting; a cap, and the door seal itself. The mounting fitting has a back web or wall that is attached to a door post or door jamb. The cap seats on the mounting fitting to conceal the mounting hardware of the mounting fitting. The door seal is located in a T-shaped slot on the doorward end of the mounting fitting. It is secured by mechanical fasteners that are hidden behind the seal. The mechanical fasteners pass through a web of the mounting fitting and through a wing or internal leg of the cap. The fasteners are spaced along the length of the assembly to discourage axial shrinkage or shifting of the cap relative to the mounting fitting.

  • Publication number: 20170167185
Abstract: A window assembly includes an inside frame, and outside frame, a glazing panel and a set of connectors that serve to seat, or positively locate, the glazing panel relative to one of the frames, and also positively to locate the inside and outside frames relative to each other. The members of the frames and the connectors may all be extrusions. The connector may have non-releasing, one-way engagement fittings that snap fit together with mating fittings on the frames. The frames may be made of a metal such as aluminum. The connectors may be made of a thermal insulator, such as a plastic of other composite material, that may tend not to form a thermal bridge between the inner and outer frames.
