Patent number: 11804082Abstract: Methods and apparatus are provided for diagnosing a vehicle. In one embodiment, a method includes: initiating, by a processor, a recording of a noise by at least one microphone based on user selection data from a user of the vehicle; receiving, by the processor, audio signal data based on the recording; generating, by the processor, vector data based on the audio signal data; processing, by the processor, the vector data with at least one trained machine, by the processor, learning model to determine a classification of the noise; predicting, by the processor, an action to be taken based on the classification; and storing, by the processor, the audio signal data, the classification, and the action in a datastore.Type: GrantFiled: June 17, 2021Date of Patent: October 31, 2023Assignee: GM GLOBAL TECHNOLOGY OPERATIONS LLCInventors: Gaurav Talwar, Kenneth Ray Booker, William L. Publication number: 20230260233Abstract: A virtual object system can coordinate interactions between multiple virtual objects in an artificial reality environment. Embodiments receive a first virtual object, the first virtual object including first properties, where the artificial reality environment is set in a real-world environment. Embodiments register the first properties of the first virtual object to receive notifications of events from the artificial reality environment. Embodiments receive one or more queries from a second virtual object and in response to the one or more queries, respond to the second virtual object with identified features of the real-world environment in which the artificial reality environment is set and identifications of one or more other virtual objects (e.g., the first virtual object). The second virtual object can use the identification of the first virtual object to register for events related to the first virtual object and/or communicate with the first virtual object.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 14, 2022Publication date: August 17, 2023Inventors: Miguel GONCALVES, Bret HOBBS, Lionel Laurent REYERO, Gabriel Barbosa NUNES, Benjamin Blonder LEIZMAN, Neil Anthony CLIFFORD

Patent number: 7645739Abstract: Modified annexin proteins, including a homodimer of human annexin V, are provided. Methods for their use, such as to prevent thrombosis without increasing hemorrhage, enhancing the survivability of platelets during storage or transfusion and to attenuate ischemia-reperfusion injury (IPI), are also provided. The modified annexins bind phosphatidylserine (PS) on cell surfaces, thereby preventing the assembly of the prothromkinase complex. The modified annexin decreases the binding of leukocytes and platelets during post-ischemic reperfusion, thereby restoring microvascular blood flow and decreasing organ damage. In addition, the modified annexin prevents lipid loss from platelets during storage.Type: GrantFiled: July 14, 2006Date of Patent: January 12, 2010Assignee: Alavita Pharmaceuticals, Inc.Inventor: Anthony Clifford Allison

Publication number: 20020016372Abstract: A method for preventing and treating AD is supplementation with vitamin K so that the concentration of the vitamin in the circulation is sufficient for its functions outside the liver. Vitamin K supplementation will also be useful to reduce brain damage associated with cardiovascular disease and injury. Vitamin K can be administered orally, subcutaneously, intramuscularly or intravenously. The vitamin K can be phylloquinone, menaquinones of varying chain lengths, or menadione. Preferred forms of the vitamin are all-trans menadione and menaquinone-4. These are formulated so as to ensure efficient absorption from the gastrointestinal tract and rapid bioavailability in the brain following administration.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 11, 2001Publication date: February 7, 2002Inventor: Anthony Clifford Allison

Patent number: 5998799Abstract: An environmental cabinet is described for simulating the effects of extended outdoor weathering on a sample material, the outdoor weathering effects including subjecting the sample material to cycles of at least the application of a corrosive solution and exposure to electromagnetic radiation. The cabinet comprises a chamber (11) for containing a sample material to be tested and a source (55) of electromagnetic radiation for subjecting the sample material within the chamber to cycles of radiation. Spray device (19) provides a cyclic spray of a corrosive solution to be deposited on the sample material within the chamber. Control unit subjects the sample material within the chamber to electromagnetic radiation and corrosive solution in a cyclic manner. The source (55) of electromagnetic radiation is disposed within a radiation transparent shield (57) passing through and sealed to the chamber.Type: GrantFiled: February 4, 1998Date of Patent: December 7, 1999Assignee: C & W Specialist Equipment LimitedInventors: Nigel David Cremer, Anthony Clifford Flory

Patent number: 5653884Abstract: A method of separating a solute from a supercritical fluid which includes reducing the pressure of the supercritical fluid and is characterized in that the supercritical fluid and solute are mixed with another fluid, eg an inorganic or organic solvent under pressure, to cause a partial reduction in the pressure of the supercritical fluid followed by reduction of the pressure of the fluid mixture comprising the supercritical fluid and said other fluid. The fluid mixture pressure reduction may occur in a collection device. Such a device may have a collection solvent already present therein. The said other fluid used partially to depressurise the supercritical fluid may act as a collection solvent in a collection device. The collection device may include one or more collection vessels or alternatively a solid phase trap or a packed column for the purpose of trapping and collecting the solute.Type: GrantFiled: June 20, 1995Date of Patent: August 5, 1997Assignee: British Nuclear Fuels PLCInventors: Neil Graham Smart, Mark D. Burford, Anthony A. Clifford, Keith D. Bartle, Catherine M. Cowey
