    Abstract: A clear cosmetic gel stick composition consisting essentially of from about 60 to about 90% of an aliphatic polyhydric alcohol having from 2 to 6 carbons and from 2 to 6 hydroxyl groups; from about 3 to about 8% soap; from about 1 to about 7% of a water-soluble emollient that is polyoxyalkylene ether of a fatty alcohol, the alcohol moiety having from about 8 to about 22 carbons and the number of alkylene glycol ether units having an average value of at least about 20; from about 1 to about 5% of a water-dispersible emollient that is a polyoxyethylene ether of a branched chain fatty alcohol, the fatty alcohol moiety having from about 8 to about 22 carbons and the average number of ethylene glycol ether units being from 1 to about 6, and from about 10 to about 20% water.
