  • Publication number: 20200072391
Abstract: A pipe support for supporting a pipe of an aircraft fuel system is disclosed. The pipe support has first and second parts which together form a collar to retain the pipe. The first and second parts of the pipe support are able to be moved relative to each other between an open condition, in which the pipe is insertable between the first and second parts, and a closed condition, in which the first and second parts are brought together to retain the pipe. The collar is locatable in an opening in a structural member, such as a wing rib. When the collar is located in the opening in the wing rib, the pipe support is restricted from moving from the closed condition.

  • Publication number: 20200003337
Abstract: A cable routing system is disclosed including a routing fixture and an exit fitting. The routing fixture defines a channel for a cable. The channel is engaged by the exit fitting and a cable in the channels exits through an exit channel defined by the exit fitting. The exit channel is directed away from the channel in the routing fixture. The resulting assembly allows low profile cable runs that can conform to a structural surface and in which cables can be broken out easily, without a requirement to cut the cable. A clamp may be provided to further secure the exit fitting to the routing fixture. A method of installation involves installing a cable into a routing channel before installing the exit fitting. The cable routing system can be used in an aircraft, including space constrained areas such as within an aircraft wing.

  • Publication number: 20200006927
Abstract: A cable routing system is disclosed having dielectric, or insulating, liner which is installed within a cable routing channel, or raceway, to subdivide the channel into at least two secondary channels. This can achieve more efficient use of space and enable more flexible placement of cables within the channels while meeting safety requirements. Installation of cables into the channel can include inserting the cables into the dielectric liner before the installation of the dielectric liner into the cable routing channel. The cable routing system can be used in an aircraft, including within space-constrained areas of the aircraft such as inside a wing.

  • Publication number: 20200001547
Abstract: A duct stringer is disclosed including a structural member with a hat-shaped cross-section. The structural member has a crown, a pair of webs and a pair of feet. A channel member with a U-shaped cross-section has a base and a pair of flanges. The flanges of the channel member are co-cured to opposed inner faces of the webs of the structural member. The structural member and the channel member together provide a duct with a closed cross-section which is adapted to transport fluid, for instance in an aircraft wing to provide a vent function in an aircraft fuel system.

  • Patent number: 10227128
Abstract: The invention provides an aircraft wing, comprising a fixed wing and a wing tip device at the tip. The wing tip device is configurable between: (i) a locked flight configuration for use during flight and (ii) a ground configuration for use during ground-based operations. The wing further comprises a locking mechanism for locking the folding wing tip device in the locked flight configuration. A rotatable locking member is associated with one of the folding wing tip device and the fixed wing, and a locking pin associated with the other. The rotatable locking member comprises a guide surface to guide the locking pin to a locked configuration, in which the guide surface is shaped such that the locking pin is urged toward the rotation axis of the rotatable locking member by a camming action of the guide surface on the locking pin, thereby preloading the locking mechanism.

  • Patent number: 9471706
Abstract: System and method are disclosed for refining a semantic search query through large quantities of dynamically created concept categories and their associated extracted values on a mobile device using only two filtering controls or buttons. The first filtering control is a Semantic Categorization Filter control and the second filtering control is a Semantic Categorization Selection control. The user queries a semantic search engine using text or voice controls. The results returned to the user imply the full scope of search results along with a dynamically created semantic categorization. The most relevant semantic categorization will be considered as the pre-selected category in the Semantic Categorization Filter control along with a list of possible dynamically created sub-categorizations and the Semantic Categorization Selection control will be pre-populated with other possible semantic categorizations of the result set.
