Abstract: A system comprises a processor, a display, an operating system executable on the processor and an executable application that is separate from the operating system. The operating system provides settings that can be used to control access to a removable storage medium. The application provides a graphical user interface (GUI) that permits a user to select a security setting from among a plurality of selectable security settings and that causes the operating system to implement the user-selected security settings to control access to the removable storage medium.

Abstract: According to one embodiment, a method for managing a plurality of connections is provided. The method comprises grouping a plurality of connections to form at least two connection groups, where each connection is associated with a communication service and each connection group comprises a first connection and at least one failover connection operable to establish a new communication service if the communication service associated with the first connection fails; and associating the at least two connection groups with a user identifier.

Abstract: Systems, methodologies, media, and other embodiments associated with collecting and providing data items that describe an element of an embedded system configured with a componentized operating system are described. One exemplary system embodiment includes a collection logic configured to collect the data item(s) from the embedded system that is configured with the componentized operating system. The collection logic may store the data item(s) in a data store. The example system may also include an access logic that provides access to the system data collected by the collection logic.
