  • Patent number: 9833560
Abstract: An intravenous (IV) set system comprising a primary IV set defining a primary flow line of the IV set system. The primary flow line can include multiple access points along its length and feeds to a merging fluid pathway proximate to the distal terminus of the primary IV set. At least one secondary IV set with corresponding flow lines can be separably joined to the primary IV set to cause the secondary flow lines to be in fluid communication with the primary flow line. At least one of the IV sets can have a unique set of uniform marking indicia to facilitate rapid identification of the IV sets from other IV sets within the IV set system. Such marked and identified primary and/or secondary IV sets can be allocated to specific medical functions and/or can be for use by specific medical personnel to thereby minimize risk of error in administration of an IV to a patient. The IV set system can further comprise a merging fluid pathway about a primary IV set.

  • Publication number: 20170128663
Abstract: An IV set and IV set system management device and associated systems and methods. The IV set and IV set system management device can include a body portion defining an opening to receive an IV set therein to couple the IV set and IV set system management device to the IV set. The IV set and IV set system management device can also include a plurality of protrusions extending from the body portion. In addition, the IV set and IV set system management device can include one or more recesses defined, at least in part, by at least one of the protrusions. The protrusions of the IV set and IV set system management device can be configured to mate with the one or more recesses of the IV set and IV set system management device, thus facilitating coupling of the IV set and IV set system management device with a similarly configured second IV set and IV set system management device.

  • Patent number: 9445302
Abstract: Approaches for managing machine-to-machine (M2M) wireless devices are disclosed. M2M wireless devices may be configured to utilize service classes in order to implement network access policy control. Packets generated by an application running on the wireless device are inspected, for example using Deep Packet Inspection (DPI). Service class may be assigned based on patent contents such as payload, transport-layer criteria, or communication protocol in use. Service class assignment proceeds according to a rule set which may be remotely configurable. Packets may be buffered and their transmission may be deferred pending service class assignment. Spoofing of the intended recipient and/or the application may be performed while the packets are buffered and/or inspected.

  • Publication number: 20160261667
Abstract: Systems, methods, and devices of the various embodiments enable management of time zone information among devices. A processor of a web server in a web server time zone (i.e., a first time zone) may receive a data set created at a communication device and a client time zone (i.e., a second time zone), wherein the data set includes an indication of the second time zone. The processor of the web server may parse the data sent to extract the indication of the second time zone. The processor of the web server may process the data set in the web server using an indication of the client time zone so as to simulate the client time zone in the web server, and thereby cause the data set to be processed as if it were in the client time zone.

  • Publication number: 20160261645
Abstract: Systems, methods, and devices of the various embodiments enable a distributed activity reporting system, such as a billing system, with geographically separated computing devices operating in different local time zones to account for time differences between the different local time zones. In an embodiment, serialized objects transported between the computing devices in the distributed activity reporting system, such as a billing system, may include indications of the local time zone of the computing device originating the serialized object. In an embodiment, the indications of the local time zone of the computing device originating the serialized object may be used to shift the dates and times in the serialized object to the local time zone of the receiving computing device when the received object is de-serialized.

  • Patent number: 9073966
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for screening compounds having the ability to prevent, suppress or reduce malodor development on body surfaces. In particular, the method allows to efficiently screen for compound having the ability of preventing sweat malodor development caused by volatile sulfur compounds (VSCs). The present invention is based on the finding of the direct precursor of naturally VSCs, which is present in human sweat and which will be metabolized by Staphylococci to VSCs.

  • Publication number: 20150172816
Abstract: A method and apparatus for detecting microphone interference includes first and second built-in microphones producing first and second microphone signals. A first filter bank creates first high-frequency-band and first low frequency-band signals from the first microphone signal. A second filter bank creates second high-frequency-band and second low-frequency-hand signals from the second microphone signal. A first measurement calculator determines a high-frequency-band energy value from the first high-frequency-band signal and the second high-frequency-hand signal when the first and second high-frequency-band signals' magnitudes exceeds predetermined thresholds. A second measurement calculator calculates a low-frequency-band energy value from the first low-frequency-band signal and the second low-frequency-band signal when the first and second low-frequency-band signals' magnitudes exceed predetermined thresholds.

  • Patent number: 8995683
Abstract: Disclosed are methods and devices for adapting a ringtone in accordance with ambient noise. In one embodiment a method includes processing an ambient noise signal to determine an ambient noise volume. When there is an incoming communication and it is determined that the ambient noise has a low ambient noise volume, a method can include generating a ringtone having a ringtone volume that is initially a low volume and increasing the ringtone volume over a predetermined period of time. A method can include applying a filter to the ringtone signal to increase a signal-to-noise ratio, the filter configured to increase an amplitude of a frequency that is not one of the predominant frequencies of the ambient noise and that the transducer is configured to output according to the transducer frequency response. In another embodiment, a second transducer may generate a ringtone output in addition to the first transducer.

  • Patent number: 8995639
Abstract: A calling party is connected to a system of a called party without the calling party reaching the called party. A call diversion is triggered when a request to access a call diversion application is received. In response to receiving the request, the call diversion application at the direct-to-diverted call completion service server initiates a first call and a second call to a called party. The call diversion application detects when the second call is connected to a call completion system. In response to detecting when the second call is connected to a call completion system, the first call is terminated.

  • Patent number: 8965129
Abstract: The present invention is related to systems and methods for translating language text on a mobile camera device offline without access to the Internet. More specifically, the present invention relates to systems and methods for displaying text of a first language and a translation of the first language text into a second language text which is displayed in real time in augmented reality on the mobile device. The processing can use a single line or a multiline algorithm designed with a plurality of processing innovations to insure accurate real-time translations without motion jitter. The invention may be used to help travelers in a foreign country with difficulties in reading and understanding text written in the local language of that country. The present invention may be utilized with wearable computers or glasses, producing seamless augmented reality foreign language translations. Some embodiments are particularly useful in translations from Asian languages to English.
