  • Patent number: 5681548
Abstract: Oral compositions comprising the combination of an effective surface tension reducing amount of an amphoteric surfactant and an effective antimicrobial amount of a blend of phenolic agents is disclosed. These compositions are indicated in the management or control of dental plaque.

  • Patent number: 5500209
Abstract: Disclosed is a gel or stick composition for reduction of body malodor, containing active deodorant and/or antiperspirant ingredients, a polyamide gelling agent and a solvent system for the polyamide gelling agent. The polyamide gelling agent has good stability, even in the presence of acidic antiperspirant metal salts, and can provide a clear deodorant or antiperspirant gel or stick. The composition has good pay-off characteristics and application properties, and good structural integrity. Moreover, the composition can be formulated so as not to leave any undesirable residue, such as a white residue left after applying conventional antiperspirant sticks.

  • Patent number: 4800477
Abstract: There is described a control circuit for use with a switching-mode power supply which circuit operates to store the duration of the last drive pulse and to control the next drive pulse so that it is prevented from exceeding the stored value by a given increment. In this manner the increment is selected such that one maintains close drive symmetry for the output drive transistors in all modes of operation. According to the operation, a given number of cycles are required before a minimum drive pulse to an output transistor can become a maximum. Thus, one never exceeds the duty cycle or the drive symmetry between the drive signals in a push-pull switch mode power supply by more than a predetermined increment. This assures complete drive symmetry and hence results in increased power supply efficiency while preventing the undesirable saturation of the output transformer.

  • Patent number: 4759925
Abstract: The perfluoroalkyl surfactant (PAS) of the general formula C.sub.x F.sub.2x+1 (CH.sub.2).sub.n S(CH.sub.2).sub.n,CO.sub.2 M wherein x is an integer of 3-8, each of n and n' is an interger of 2-4 and may be the same or different and M is hydrogen, an alkali metal or ammonium, provides an oral composition, such as a dentifrice or a mouthwash with effect in prevent plaque formation. A preferred PAS is Zonyl FSA, C.sub.3-8 F.sub.7-17 (CH.sub.2).sub.2 S(CH.sub.2).sub.2 COOLi.

  • Patent number: 4531310
Abstract: An improved device for communication of graphic and/or pictorial information. In its simplest form, this device includes a graphic and/or pictorial information display element, a synthesizer element for electronic sound reproduction and a backing plate which couples to the display element and thereby defines a chamber for housing the synthesizer. The audible message produced by the synthesizer can be programmed for enhancement and/or complementary to the graphic and/or pictorial information depicted on the display element. This device can be used as a novelty item, jewelry-like adornments, enhanced security identification badges and various instructional and/or message oriented media.

  • Patent number: 4498166
Abstract: There is disclosed a multiplex system for combining a plurality of analog or other type input signals at a transmitter site to provide a composite signal for transmission to a receiver site via a common transmission channel. At the transmitter, a reference ramp signal is generated and then peak detected to provide a plurality of proportional threshold level signals, each one associated with one input signal. These threshold signals are employed as inputs to comparators which also receive an input signal with one comparator for each input signal or channel. The outputs of the comparators are summed to provide a staircase composite signal for transmission to the receiver site. At the receiver, the staircase signal is peak detected to again provide a series of proportional threshold levels each of which is applied to a separate comparator at one input. Another input of the comparator receives the staircase signal to provide at the output a replica of the original input signal.
