  • Publication number: 20110040494
Abstract: A method and apparatus is disclosed for resolving absorption spectra such as ultraviolet or visible spectra having individual peaks attributable to more than one component in a sample mixture. The invention exploits the observation that the peak wavelength varies according to the component concentrations, providing the basis for an initial estimate of these. A curve fitting exercise is performed for a range of possible concentrations encompassing the initial estimates so that the a theoretical spectrum having the closest match to that observed provides for a refined estimate of component concentrations.

  • Patent number: 7845602
Abstract: A telescoping support stand comprising a first tube partially defining a first enclosed area and a second tube partially defining a second enclosed area. A first end of the second tube may be telescopically slidable within the first tube. The telescoping support stand may also comprise a first locking mechanism attached to the second tube. The first locking mechanism may releasably secure the first tube to the second tube to prevent longitudinal movement of the first tube relative to the second tube. The telescoping support stand may also comprise a first air exchange aperture dimensioned to allow air to flow between the first and second enclosed areas. A corresponding method of assembly is also disclosed.

  • Publication number: 20060040811
Abstract: A floor exercise mat and pad system comprising a mat and support pads in which the pads can be selectively attached to the mat for the purpose of comfortably supporting a user's neck, back or other body areas in the course of performing exercise or stretch while lying on the mat. The system may also include a removable cover for the mat and an elastic band for holding the mat in a coiled position.

  • Patent number: 6682388
Abstract: A bone shaped reed is provided for use in game call having a sounding board defining a central elongated groove. The reed has maximal width at each end for tonal quality and attachment purposes but has an arcuate portion along each margin defining a minimum width to prevent fouling due to the presence of water.

  • Patent number: 6472223
Abstract: A method for directly monitoring and controlling a continuous process stream for dechlorination residual is provided. A sample stream to which a dechlorination agent has been added to completely eliminate a residual disinfectant is continuously drawn off. An analyzing agent of iodine is provided by introducing an iodide solution, a chloramine-T solution, and an acetic acid buffer into the sample stream. The reagents quickly react to produce iodine that reacts with any residual disinfectant removal agent residual that may be present. Thereafter, the sample stream is continuously analyzed to determine the amount of unreacted iodine remaining in the process sample. Based on the amount of iodine added to the process sample and the amount of unreacted iodine remaining in the sample after reaction, the amount of dechlorination residual is continuously determined.

  • Patent number: 6260231
Abstract: System for drying printed circuit boards in a liquid cleaning apparatus. The liquid cleaning apparatus includes a series of air knife dryers enclosed within two drying modules. The first drying module houses a first set of top and bottom air knife dryers which includes at least one top air knife dryer, positioned above a conveyor belt carrying printed circuit boards through the liquid cleaning apparatus, and at least one bottom air knife dryer, positioned below the conveyor belt. The air knife dryers may be symmetrically opposed and aligned above and below the conveyor belt. The liquid cleaning apparatus further includes side air knife dryers disposed along the conveyor belt between the first drying module and the second drying module.

  • Patent number: 4989313
Abstract: A magnetic alignment fixture to temporarily hold a door latch striker in position relative to a door jamb while the alignment of the doors is adjusted. The magnetic alignment fixture includes a base plate of flexible material having an aperture for receiving and positioning the striker. The base plate magnetically holds the striker on the door jamb. The base plate may be moved by sufficient force applied against the striker in the plane parallel to the door jamb to overcome the magnetic force holding the base plate and thereby adjusts the position of the striker. The flexibility of the base plate allows the base plate to be flexibly peeled away from the door jam and the striker in a direction perpendicular to the door jamb after the striker is secured to the door jamb.

  • Patent number: 4197190
Abstract: Tars and hydrocarbon oils containing water are dehydrated in a thermally efficient and environmentally acceptable manner. The tars or hydrocarbon oils are heated externally to any holding vessel to a temperature equivalent to at least 100.degree. C. at atmospheric pressure and are sprayed into a holding vessel to enhance the separation of water from the tars or hydrocarbon oils. Then the water in the vapor state is removed from the holding vessel and scrubbed to remove any noxious chemicals.
