Patent number: 11660399Abstract: An injection system, including an injector having a dispensing mechanism configured to dispense a medicament, and a ready-to-use indicator. The ready-to-use indicator includes a controller configured to interact with the ready-to-use indicator and an audio and/or visual indicator, a temperature sensor, and a temperature analog having similar thermodynamic properties of the medicament. The temperature sensor is configured to detect a temperature of the temperature analog which represents the dynamic temperature of medicament as the medicament is heated or cooled. The temperature sensor is configured to communicate the detected temperature to the controller and to alert the controller when a preset temperature is reached. The ready-to-use indicator is configured to alert a user when the preset temperature is reached, signifying the medicament is thermally ready to be delivered by the dispensing mechanism. The audio and/or visual indicator is configured to display indicate one or more notifications to the user.Type: GrantFiled: August 4, 2020Date of Patent: May 30, 2023Assignee: West Pharmaceutical Services, Inc.Inventors: Tommy Gene Davis, Brian Klueppel, Paul Benson, Anthony G. Patent number: 11389597Abstract: A telescopic screw assembly for an injector includes an inner screw, an outer screw and a middle screw. The middle and outer screws are in a first threaded engagement, and the inner and middle screws are in a second threaded engagement. The inner screw is nested with the middle screw and the middle screw is nested with the outer screw in a contracted configuration of the screw assembly. Rotation of the outer screw in one direction advances the middle screw relative to the outer screw via the first threaded engagement and advances the inner screw relative to the middle screw via the second threaded engagement to telescopically extend the screw assembly into an expanded configuration. At least two of the inner, middle and outer screws are identified with a different visual indicator to enhance visual distinction between the screws, and readily visually indicate an extension progress of the screw assembly.Type: GrantFiled: March 16, 2017Date of Patent: July 19, 2022Assignee: West Pharma. Services IL, Ltd.Inventors: Jason W. Farris, Jorge Santos, Marla Meyer, Anthony G. Esposito

Publication number: 20150257664Abstract: A heart monitoring sensor having a printed circuit board with a depressed inner area, which, together with a flexible bulb extending from a perimeter for the depressed area, forms a sealed cavity. A sensor, such as a pressure sensor, is mounted within the sealed cavity. The bulb is releasably attached to the exterior of an animal near a heart pulse-detection point, and pressure changes within the cavity from the animal's heart pulse are sensed by the pressure sensor. The sensor output is provided outside the heart monitor by wired or wireless connection. In a particular embodiment, the sensor may be an active ranging sensor, and may range off of a reflective inner surface of the bulb. The active ranging sensor may be sonar, light reflective, (such as lidar), or Doppler. For a horse, the preferred location is in a natural depression underneath the horse's tail near the horse's dock.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 16, 2015Publication date: September 17, 2015Inventor: Anthony G. Patent number: 5896260Abstract: This invention provides an electronic safety break device and method for protecting an electrical circuit. In a preferred embodiment, the electronic safety break device of this invention includes switching means for making and breaking an electrical connection, current measuring means for measuring the magnitude and direction of the current flowing through the connection, voltage measuring means for measuring voltage on each side of the electrical connection, and means responsive to the current and voltage measuring means for controlling the switching means. The electronic safety break device and method of the present invention thus provide for a bidirectional safety break for an electrical connection between a rechargeable battery and a load and other external circuitry, protecting the battery from excessive charge and discharge currents and from undervoltage and overvoltage conditions, or any combination of these conditions.Type: GrantFiled: February 5, 1996Date of Patent: April 20, 1999Assignee: CSS Power, Inc.Inventor: Anthony G.
