Abstract: Embodiments of the invention provide a bed and related apparatus that is adaptable by the user to permit the creation and modification of the bed environment to any desired theme, location, activity or scenario. Some embodiments of the invention provide an adaptable bed and related apparatus comprising a frame extending between a footboard and a headboard structure, where the frame provides or supports an area for sleeping such as a mattress. The footboard and headboard have opposite facing surface areas any one of which can include an apparatus for displaying at least one image to a user. The apparatus can include a first apparatus coupled to the headboard and a second apparatus coupled to the footboard. In some embodiments, either the first or the second apparatus can be adapted to display an image to a user that may be electronically generated, or may be non-electronic.
