  • Patent number: 9330255
Abstract: In one embodiment, a method for monitoring a computer system that includes activating and controlling a target processor by way of an electromagnetic signal. The method also includes generating a key for a computer security method via processor readable instructions stored on a first memory device; transmitting the key to the target processor via an electromagnetic signal; and requesting the target processor to perform the computer security method on a target memory device via an electromagnetic signal, where the computer security method uses the key as a seed.

  • Publication number: 20150199217
Abstract: A virtual machine monitor can be enhanced to provide entropy resource management in a virtualized environment. The VM monitor can obtain entropy from an entropy source to fill an entropy bank. The VM monitor can also distribute entropy symbols from the entropy bank to VM guests in a manner that ensures VM isolation. That is, when a first VM guest requests one or more entropy symbols, the VM monitor reads the requested number of entropy symbols from the entropy bank and deletes the read entropy symbols from the entropy bank so that upon a subsequent request by the first VM guest or a request from a second VM guest fresh entropy symbols will be read from entropy bank.

  • Patent number: 8856590
Abstract: A redundant controller engine (RCE) of a system includes a first, second and at least a third redundant processing unit (RPU). The RCE includes an arbitrator in communication with the first, second and third RPUs which sends a message for a corresponding time requiring a decision to the first, second and third RPUs, and receives the decisions made by the first, second and third RPUs. The arbitrator accepts a first two matching decisions for the corresponding time received from the first, second and third RPUs, and sending the matching decision for the corresponding time to the system. The arbitrator has a first message processing unit (MPU) and a second MPU. The first MPU sends the message for the corresponding time to and receives the decisions for the corresponding time from the first, second and third RPUs. A method for processing data from a system. An apparatus for conferencing.

  • Publication number: 20070180237
Abstract: A method and apparatus to process an outgoing electronic communication is described. The method may comprise, at a messaging client, retrieving members of a message group together with an encryption mechanism for each of the members, encrypting an outgoing electronic communication using the encryption mechanisms and sending the outgoing encrypted message to each of the members of the message group. In an alternate embodiment, the method may comprise, at a message group server, distributing a package to one or more messaging clients, the package containing members of a message group together with at least one encryption mechanism for each of the members of the message group. In an example embodiment, a user sends an email to an email alias through their email client.

  • Patent number: 5355063
Abstract: An improved robotic arm system for servicing the tubesheet located within the channel head of a nuclear steam generator is provided. The system includes a robotic arm whose shoulder and elbow joints are rotatable only in the plane parallel to the tubesheet in order to eliminate the imposition of cantileverly-induced torques on the electric motors driving these joints, as well as to minimize the possibility of mechanical interference between the arm and the walls of the channel head. Each of the motorized joint assemblies of the arm includes resolvers connected not only to the output of the drive train that moves the joint, but also to the drive shaft of the electric motor that drives the drive train, wherein the feedback signal generated by the resolver connected to the drive shaft of the electric motor is the primary signal used to modulate the amount of electric power conducted to the motor of the joint. Such a configuration advantageously results in smoother robotic arm movement.
